The 20-minute phone consultation I had with Lenore for our wedding cake plans was one of the most pleasant calls I've ever had. That lead to trusting LenJo Bakes with our wedding cakes, one of the best choices we made for our wedding. It was delicious, the options wonderfully creative, and the service fantastic. Lenore worked with me on the custom idea I was hoping for 3 mini cakes vs 1 large and helped guide in the design process to exactly what we were looking for including our favours French macarons. The entire process was great, including the set-up at our event. And we continued to enjoy the cake 1 year later, on our 1st anniversary vacation - we even shared some with the flight attendants! Hands down would recommend LenJo Bakes.
This is our go-to bakery in town so we absolutely had to share with our friends and family at our wedding! Lenore helped us create a menu based on our favourites, was flexible and accommodating as details about our day changed, and did a beautiful job setting things up for us. As always, the goodies were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed! Highly recommend!
We drove down to support this business after seeing their extremely well written IG post in response to a group. Are we glad we did! There was a line up outside and we immediately knew this was a staple in the community. We ordered tea lattes which were full of flavour and didn’t taste artificial and the both flavours of the breakfast pastries. But the game changer was their chocolate mousse with honey comb. Small but mighty! Heaven in a jar. We will have to make future day trips just to stop here again!
Fantastic little bakery that is locally owned and operated. The staff was friendly and helpful, as well as patient with us as we took our time deciding on what to order. We ended up with a mixed box of cookies: Lavender Shortie shortbread, Lemon Crackle, and Coconut Macadamia. I'm happy to report that they were all delicious. LenJo has a rotating menu so there are always new things to try. You can check out the website to see what's new or just pop in to be surprised. The physical shop itself is brightly light with lots of natural sunlight and is well maintained. Prices are reasonable. You will clearly pay more than if you go to a big box store for industrially made cookies, but you can tell that these are freshly made with a lot of love. In my opinion, it's money well spent and I look forward to when I return next to try something new.
This is a very late and overdue post! I was suppose to get married March and then August of 2021. Due to closures at our venue we had to postpone. Lenore was incredibly sympathetic and flexible with our date pushed back to November. Our cake was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we had envisioned. My dad is not a huge cake eater, and he went for seconds! Thank you for being apart of our special day.
LenJo Bakes is my all time FAVOURITE bakery! Everything is SO good. Especially the macarons. I have been visiting ever since they opened and I just knew even before I experienced an amazing cake-tasting box that I wanted Lenore to create my wedding cake! And it did not disappoint. The cake was absolutely beautiful & delicious! I will post photos as soon as I receive them. Lenore is also so nice & welcoming every time you walk through the shop door. LenJos has such a lovely vibe and is a fantastic addition to KW.
Beautiful, and delicious wedding cake! Lenore went above and beyond, picking up the flowers from my florist for the cake, delivering the cake during our ceremony, and rented a pretty cake stand that matches the cake perfectly. Photo by Anne Edgar Photography.
Got to check out LenJo Bakes today. Staff was amazingly friendly and made shopping here a delight. It's pretty small and doesn't have a huge selection focusing largely one cakes which are a bit out of my price range but what it does it does very well. The standouts were the Len Jo Louis whoopie pie which was fun and chocolate with a good cake to filling ratio. I was skeptical of the "kitchen sink" cookies but when the comped me one to sample I couldn't resist and it won me over! It was a crispy thin chocolate chip cookie with multiple kinds of chocolate chips, pretzels, crushed potato chips and ground coffee. I hate coffee but this totally worked balancing sweet and salty. The lavender shortbread were wonderfully crumbly but the lavender was too strong. The apple blonde had strong apple flavour and the double chocolate cookie was excellent. I definitely recommend.
Lenore did a fantastic job making our wedding cake. Pictures don’t do justice to the sugar flowers she crafted. The cake was moist, not to sweet and just beautiful. Thank you!
Lenore is amazing. I ordered online and items were ready for pick up in the morning on time. I bought treats for work and everyone loved them.
