I have been here a few times and every time the food is really consistent and tasty! The staff are very attentive and the owner is really passionate which shines through in his food. The menu is more “upscale” than the regular HK cafe and for the quality, ~$20 is more than reasonable for every dish. Portion sizes are pretty generous and I often find myself unable to finish so I get to have some nice leftovers afterwards. My personal favourites are the baked pork chop on rice with tomato sauce and the lobster bisque. The owner always makes the effort to engage with customers and is really kind. LC cafe deserves all the business they get and the hype!
LC Cafe is a new popular Chinese cafe in Scarborough. It is still in soft opening. We are surprised that we don't have to wait for line up. We ordered one baked chicken with zucchini, and grilled tiger shrimps pasta. Both are very tasty, and Premium quality. Price point is a bit high. The most disappointment is we had to wait 50 mins for our food to come, which is quite unacceptable for a cafe. For food, they are obviously good, but need to work on the improvement of waiting time for the food to come.
The lobster bisque has a floral note and is light. The chef may have used a Rose rather than Brandy? The shrimp spaghetti is really good. The sauce is creamy with sun-dried tomatoes. Pork cutlet is really juicy and tastes well. is average, . Lemon tea is very good. They’re really generous with 4 slices of lemon. Portions are a good size. Good for sharing. Service is very good. I’ll give them a 4.8 star. Please be patient with service. Don’t expect quick in and out. Good ambience. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available
Came here for dinner tonight with my parents. It was pretty much a full house and it was nicely modernly decorated! Service was super attentive and we were promptly seated. We ordered lobster bisque, tiger shrimp cream pasta, and steak chow ho fun. The lobster bisque was a bite salty commented by my parents as well however it was nicely presented. They serve the dish with the lobster chunks to ensure you that there is real lobster meat and then they pour the soup on top. It was a little pricey however, at $14 a bowl for little bits of lobster. The shrimp pasta was really good and decent portion size that I couldn't finish but at a staggering cost of $22. My parents comment on the chow ho fun was that it was pretty good I didn't try it and that it had good "wok hey" lol. Each dish comes with a drink of your choice from what I could tell. Overall food was good. However it's quite pricey for a HK cafe.
Came for the first time and was very impressed with the service and food quality. Photos have been attached in this review, because of the extra rice portion, the ox tongue rice would have looked much more presentable with circular shape but I honestly do not mind to me that already looks super mouth watering. The owner is modest and down to earth which has made our visit very enjoyable. Hands down one of the best first impression from a restaurant. Servers are all very nice and approachable. Milk tea was bang on - silky with great tea taste without excessive bitterness. Despite knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight with the caffein rush, its totally worth it. The gravy on the ox tongue rice was not some random brown sticky sauce that you get from average chinese restaurant. There is fullness, brothy taste to the sauce. Lobster arborio was equally great with lobsterful taste in the sauce - it was a full-on lobster soup right there. The lobster meat was fresh and it just mingled very well with all other ingredients on the plate. Recommended and definitely coming back again.
My first visit to LC Cafe was an interesting experience. Initially, I thought it was a typical Hong Kong style cafe, but to my surprise, it projected itself as an upscale restaurant with refined HK style cafe food. While the price point was on the higher end, I didn't feel that the food quality or service justified the cost. The food was above average for a typical HK style restaurant, but the service was what you would expect from a budget establishment. We ordered the lobster pasta and shrimp pasta, both of which were recommended items, but unfortunately, they tasted exactly the same. Overall, I was pleased with the food, but the price was a bit steep, and we could have gotten similar food for much less elsewhere.
The food was a mixed experience: my baked Angus beef rice was good, my husband's Thai minced pork rice was way too spicy and not aromatic. I had the soufflé which was a huge disappointment it tasted like melted marshmallows, on a slice of bread. Service was ok. The place was crowded and tight.Food: 3/5
Crowded and tables are right next to each other, you can literally touch the next table. Food is good but pricey considering in Scarborough. They use Staub and LeCreuset to serve meals, really impressed about that. Service is very good, all Cantonese speaking, they are friendly, attentive and fast Parking is always a problem in that plaza
I have been waiting for this place opening its door since spring and finally I gotta try when they soft open on sep 30th. We ordered lobster bisque, borscht, baked tomato pork chop w/cauliflower rice and deutche crispy pork knuckle. For the starter, lobster bisque was good but borscht was even impressive! I’d say it’s so condensed tasted even better than hk OG Tai Ping Goon. If it came with a warm small soft dinner roll would perfect it. As for the cauliflower rice option for my baked tomato pork chop, this low carb almost keto version did not disappoint. The freshness of the tomato puree, the right texture of the pork chop plus the cauliflower rice went so well, I wolfed down the whole casserole while waiting for the crispy pork knuckle. When we ordered it, the waitress gave us a friendly reminder that it would take more than 30 mins. By the time it was served, it took more than 30 mins and the gigantic crispy knuckle was literally smoking hot. When I cut it open, I could hear the crackling sound of the crispy skin contrasting the tenderness and juiciness of the meat. The combo of crispy skin, tender meat, sauerkraut and mustard in one bite was so matched and we love it! Lastly, I had the mango vanilla popsicle to wrap the whole meal up. The LC cafe is a rare high quality in TO with a lot of . Highly recommended this place and I will definitely come back for more. Please keep it up. Hope that by the time of grand opening, everything has run smooth and no more unsatisfied customers complaining about waiting for their food. =P
Lobster rice soup was really delicious. Staff were very friendly. Very unique popsicles and ice cold. The hot grill pork chop and chicken steak was very hot and sizzling. My kids love it Is there any vip cards?Food: 4/5
