April 2022 4 Located inside a south Asian mall beside the food court, this is a hidden find. If your interested and like chewier donuts, then a mochi style donut is for you. These are made of rice flour instead of wheat flour and has a chewy texture instead of a softer texture. This store offers multiple flavors. Individually, the donuts set you back 4$ each or a dozen at 42$. The golden strawberry, milk tea and taro flavors were all very good. These pair well with a cup of hot green tea. Would recommend trying it out. Not too sweet, but bring your own drink.
Very surprising experience and take on your typical idea of a donut. They are shaped as a donut, however are crispy outside and chewy inside mochi connected to eachother and topped to your liking with a variety of flavour profiles. I had the black sesame which had the distinctive bold nutty taste with a slight bitterness. They also had the option for soft serve ice cream. I will note that when we went they were made to order so there was a small ten minute wait, but totally worth it because the donuts were extremely fresh.
I found a new love for mochi donuts after discovering Lamochi! Amazing staff, they are super friendly and very helpful especially on deciding what flavours to try. I ended up getting them all donuts are always consistent and fresh upon pick up. Great idea to bring a few boxes to a family function or party, definitely will be returning back for some more!
Great spot for tasty mochi donuts in the Midland/Finch area. The inside feels very spacious, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I got a box of 6 mochi donuts of assorted flavours, and all of them were tasty. Truth be told, mochi donuts tend to be on the sweeter side so often I can't distinguish the flavours well, but the sweetness pairs well with the softness and mildness of the mochi itself. I think the churro one was my favourite also their best seller because it was the least sweet. All in all a great experience, can't wait to come back to try the rest of their flavours!
I got my doughnuts fresh out of the oven, dripping with their toppings! The flavours were delicious. I had mango and hazelnut mango was more scrumptious!. I couldn't help but eat half of the second one I was supposed to save for later. They were somewhat airy-somewhat chewy. I would go back to eventually try all the flavours. They are rich, so I wouldn't become a regular. They were slightly larger than Isabella's and not stale and too dense. Even chilled in the fridge the next day, they were still tasty and not hard or gummy, which is what I like to see!
Yelp Elite week brings us to La Mochi, serving up Japanese Mochi donuts. This dessert shop is located in the Skycity shopping centre. There were plenty of parking spots. I was greeted by the store clerk who graciously offered assistance with selecting my mochi donuts. She asked if I like sweet or less sweet. I told her I liked both. There is a display case showing the various flavours available. I ordered black sesame, matcha and oreo, and cookies and cream for the Yelp Elite offer. I also purchased 3 more donuts at $4.25 each. The other flavours were chocolate, hazelnut, and coffee. There was nice decoration on two of the donuts to show Yelp Elite. Very nice touch. You can buy 6 mochi donuts for $25 tax incl or 12 mochi donuts for $45 tax incl. There are some special tea lover mochi donuts at $5 each. Earl gray, Milk tea, and Thai. I think if they offer some premium drinks like bubble tea they will definitely expand their reach in the market. Maybe I missed their drink menu. If you have sweet tooth and looking for something more fun and interesting to eat, then I totally recommend this place. Although the price may seem steep, you can definitely taste the difference from a regular donut. Thank you, Yelp Toronto - Janice, for organizing this event.
Good selection of Mochi donut flavours! Very tasty and cute little place to get these sweets. They charge $4.25/donut, $25 for a box of 6, and $45 for a dozen and an extra $2 for the special donuts. In my opinion, it’s pretty overpriced and the packaging is nice and sturdy, but I guess that’s a huge factor of its price too. I got the box of 6 chocolate, hazelnut, cookies n’ cream, pumpkin spice, crème brûlée, and coffee and they were all delicious! Would prefer it to be more crispy on the outside but still enjoyed it. Overall did like it and would return to get this again!
Very yummy mochi donuts! Highly recommend the Earl Grey and the Creme Brulee flavour. Presentation is top-notch. A fun shareable dessert to bring to parties. The only thing is the location is a little hidden...since it is deep inside the strip mall. If you are the owner reading this- I hope you open a location in North York! I am sure your product will be very popular in this area.
Highly recommend to try mochi donut in general! It’s completely different than regular donut. I actually had 5 in a row I prefer those chocolate ones. Not a big fan of matcha too sweet. I’d suggest them to lower the sweetness a bit for all the icing. It would be just perfect. But the look is pretty Lots of flavours. I got 12 different flavours to try them all out and they still have more
What a delightful experience at La Mochi Donuts Scarborough Yelp Elite Event. I was so hungry and tired. The weather was the worse. The soft mochi enlightened my day. So soft chewy warm and fresh. The desserts can be enjoyed anytime. I asked the restaurant workers to surprise me with the flavors, they didn't disappoint. Thanks Yelp organizers and La Mochi sweets. Loved the tote bag gift.
