Definitely worth the hype. The pizzas are made fresh right by the chef and the service was good. Cheese pizza fritta is so damn good and the portion is perfect for two. Spinners club pizza was really unique and like it, felt kind of healthy pizza because of all the greens?! Would like to try other pizzas next time. The cocktails were also good. Finding a parking spot on the street was a nightmare and realized there’s paid parking in the underground.
Quite literally the best pizza we’ve had in Vancouver so far. The outside and location is very unassuming but definitely make your way here ASAP. The atmosphere, staff and owner were warm and inviting. We ended up being seated at the bar but was able to then learn more about their pizza making process and talk to the staff who were so kind and welcoming. The pizza itself was so so good. We had the Pasquale which was perfectly seasoned and the Diavola which had delicious notes of salty, sweet and a hint of spice. Highly highly recommend as all the ingredients and toppings are made in house and fresh. Can’t wait to come back to try all the other pizzas :
Amazing pizza. I didn’t know that this was here in new west, it was a suggestion made by my mom and I don’t regret trying. We ordered the pizza and when I arrived, the pizza wasn’t ready and they apologized although I wasn’t concerned and offered me a drink while I waited. The pizza seemed to be of the Italian style and not the kind of western pizza you would typically order. It tastes good and it also feels light so you’re not going to get bloated if you have no self control haha. When it comes to the actual restaurant, it seems like it’s also a bar. They have lots of drinks on the wall and I’d imagine they have drinks on their menu as well.
This restaurant takes me back to my time in Italy. The flavour combinations & sourdough pizza crust are so good and everyone I've taken here always loves it. You can even see the chef make the pizza right there in the restaurant. Tucked away in Victoria Hill located in New Westminster, this place is truly worth the drive and makes for a cute date spot!
I went and sat at the bar, the staff were friendly the bartender was chatty which was nice since I was there solo. The chef/owner was making the pizzas himself. Definitely knows his stuff. I had the peparani pizza and a new fashion both were great. I will definitely be back. I will bring company next time too.
We had their gluten free pizza crust, hands down the best gluten free pizza in the lower mainland. We didn't try their sourdough crust which they apparently make with wheat that they mill themselves, I bet it's out of this world. Service and decor was great! I wish they would bring their services to Vancouver as well! Definitely will be my go to place for when I'm craving pizza or want my company to enjoy a great meal without having to sacrifice too much for my dietary restriction!
We had high hopes of getting good quality Italian delicacy when we went there. We always saw many people dining in when we passed around from the restaurant. We ordered two Pizzas, meatball, one cocktail, one mocktail, and garlic bread. Meatball came and we were happy with it. Tomato gravy was nice and spicy and we loved it, then came the mocktail…which was okay. Honor & Basil House Cocktail was just average and we couldn’t tell the difference between the mocktail and cocktail. They were just lemony and tangy. SO small glass 2oz and in that they have to add ice making it watery. How much they are trying to save?? That portion of 2oz is shameless. We did not understand the “Small Island Tea cocktail “ then we realized with 2oz tiny glass, the long became small island tea cocktail. Drinks are shamelessly small and pricy and with the overload of ice, they are less than average in taste and doesn’t even deserve to be ordered. But the garlic bread was a disaster. It was NOT bread, it was the Pizza crust without cheese oval shaped and a dash of garlic spread. What?? Who in the world gives dry pizza crust with burnt spots as garlic bread? Bread meaning the normal baked white bread slices. Savings for the restaurants at the cost of customer’s taste? Pizzas were baked well to the extent that the crust were all dry with black charred spots that’s burnt taste was quite overpowering the actual pizza taste. We ordered Diavola Pizza, which we didn’t know how to pronounce, and the server didn’t know it too, which became a fun conversation with them and we enjoyed it. But then? The taste was just crust-crust that crushed our party mood. It looked good but the cheese was so less and tomato sauce was also not spread evenly till the outer crust making it a charred dry crust pizza for us. We were not happy with the taste. We said, “let’s order Margherita Pizza, what could go wrong with that?” But when the Pizza came, our 10yr old daughter yelled, “this is the perfect example of how everything could go wrong with a Margarita Pizza!” We all laughed in agreement. Where was the cheese? Just burnt DRY crust with excess tomato sauce and four dumps of cheese. It wasn’t juicy or flavorful. Overall, a below average pizza restaurant, with many people coming to order and take out, why? Coz there aren’t any pizza restaurant nearby, and that is the advantage this restaurant has. Monopoly. People will eat anyway no matter what they serve. But if you want a fine dining with a hearty meal, this is not that place. We were totally disappointed! Hey owners, if you have years of pizza and drink making experience, then we have decades of italian eating experience not just in Victoria Hill, but in different countries including Italy…. Improve yourself and increase the portions for drinks. It’s just food blasphemy that I see in this restaurant! This was our first and the last visit. If we have to drive a little extra, we will to get a better Italian food. Seriously!!
Can't say enough good things. Never knew this place existed but isn't that like that where some of the best restaurants are - hard to find?!?!?. Started off with a selection of amazingly refreshing summer salads. Being 35C outside, a special watermelon one was whipped up = nice and light one but my favorite was the fennel Sicilian with oranges in a balsamic dressing - literally can eat this everyday. A huge antipasto platter greeted us as well. Everything was 10/10 for freshness, display and creativity. Next came some wings that had the perfect balance of sweet, tang and spiciness. Could have had a couple dozen of these alone! Can't be complete without organic pork meatballs. One of the best I ever had accompanied with a flatbread topped with cheese, EVOO and sundried tomatoes - perfect to slop up the meat ball's sauce. just falls apart...yummy. The owner and staff then continued the feast with the Burrata cheese salad. So fresh as if you picked everything minutes before. Then the main roll out. PIZZA! Tried the Diavola. That honey put it over the top. Never had it on a pizza but that's why this place rocks. Different but still rustic. Crusts were perfectly chewy, and light. Funguy came next. Very tasty mushroom option. Peparani also had a honey drizzle and elevated a typical peperoni pizza to one that has you wondering why would you have the regular ones anymore. It's that good! We were already stuffed and needed to breathe. Didn't know dessert was coming out. 4 samplers of gelato and their tiramisu must try. Oh boy. I had to try everything. The cherry ice cream was very good with bits of tart cherry pieces, the pistachio was the closest thing to the pure nut. Nothing to take away from the taste of true pistachio. Food was beyond a 10. Dessert was a 10. Their bartender was an amazing guy blasting out creations for everyone and he was on point with "just put something together". The dude was a rockstar. Most of all, the owner. Greeted us at the entrance and explained the dishes to us. He was hands on with making the pizzas. And get this....when the tiramisu came out, my wife and I were already too stuffed to eat the whole thing. We felt bad to waste it and asked if we can pack it. He said it would ruin it. Next thing we knew, 5 minutes later he brought out 2 to take home! Is that not customer service or what? You MUST go here. Not try because you will be returning. It's a bit of a drive but we will be back! Thanks for a lovely feast!
This is delicious pizza!! Well worth the trip from Vancouver during rush hour. The crust, so tender, yet chewy. You can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients!! Great friendly service! We will definitely be back soon!
Looking for a good pizza place in new west? Then this is your right spot. Super friendly staff and owners. Diavola pizza was super juicy and tasty, that honey drizzle makes a big difference. I personally didn’t like the funguy mushroom pizza. Pocketman was good but I’d recommend to try their seasonal instead. Dough was great, hot served pizza all in all 4/5. You can always ask for chili or balsamic sauce on the side if you need a bit of a kick.
