We ordered their Crispy chicken burger, their beef burger and their paratha roll. The burgers had no taste whatsoever, For sauce they added mint chutney in it which makes absolute no sense. The paratha roll was extremely soggy and had same salad as in the burgers. 9$ for each is so not worth it.
I am never eating here again. I barely write reviews and I don't like to be negative, but this was too much. I used to come here at least once every 1-2 months to get because the vegetable samosas for my family because they are really good. I'm a huge fan of butter chicken and they had it on their menu, so why would I not try it? MAN was that a mistake, and I'm pretty sure I developed taste aversion from this place now. First of all, it's $15. Second, the sauce isn't actually sauce, it's literally has the same viscosity as water. Third, they put 7 or less pieces of chicken inside that aren't very big. Fourth, I woke up at 6 in the morning because it gave me a massive stomach ache. Why would I not just get butter chicken from Faisal Kabab Hut? Their butter chicken is $10, with amazing sauce and big pieces of chicken in it. THAT is worth my money, plus it doesn't come out badly on the other end!
I have been going to this place for about three years now. I like their flavors, that is different from traditional North Indian food. To be honest there has been few misses in the past related with orders but overall I still like this plac and their pric is reasonable too. Update: the place is closed now unfortunately
I have tried most Pakistani restaurants in Calgary. I decided to get a take-out from this place. I ordered chargha, behari kebab and butter chicken. I have to say I was amazed by the food and service. They prices are extremely reasonable too. I would definitely come back. 11/10!
Fyi this is the first time I had Pakistani food, though I've had other Indian foods before. I had the chicken biryani, butter chicken, mutton, veggie samosa and the beef kebab. The chicken biryani was very good, the rice was cooked perfectly and went well with the chicken in the dish. You could really taste all the spices they use in the dish. The samosas pack very good heat for the spicy lover, for me a weakling it was too much. Everything else was too salty. The butter chicken, beef and the mutton was too salted. The worst was the mutton. Were there spices? I wouldn't know, all I knew was salt. It felt like my tongue was being prepared to be jerkied with the amount of sodium I ate. All in all, if you come here I would recommend the biryani. Will I return? Probably not
One of the best chicken biryani and kadhai in town. It is affordable and is a decent portion size. I like the spice level and it brings the authentic pakistani touch. They use good rice as well...a lot of other places use thick rice. There timings are not always accurate. SOmetimes their website and google says they are open but they are NOT open. Thats my only concern.
Good tasty chicken Biryani will come back again
Thanks for the 7 small cubes of paneer in the shahi paneer. Next time, just leave out the paneer altogether. Also, highly recommend everyone going here to check out the restaurant inspection reports on Alberta Health for this restaurant before eating here
Excellent food, amazing service. We ordered the kabab, the ribs and the nihari, and all of it was amazing. Nihari is a dish that should be very spicy to maximize the flavour, and they did it right. If you are not accustomed to a high degree of spicy heat, then you should aim for a milder dish. We ordered through Skip the Dishes, and the driver made a mistake he swapped two orders. The folks at Koyla fixed it immediately and properly, and I really appreciated that level of customer service. I will be ordering from here regularly.
We stopped in to try the Chicken Biryani. It was good. Not something we would crave. We will try it again as this was our first visit. With limited choices in the NW, for Indian food, it may be a a place to keep in kind for those days we don't want to drive to the NE for food. We have heard that the chicken or meat skewers are good, so will try them at the next visit as well.
