Darwin's Charcoal BBQ Chicken

My bf and I visited Calgary from BC a few week ago and we were so lucky to find this hidden gem. After the first visit, we couldn't resist and came back 3 more nights in a row to make sure we got to try as many dishes as possible from the menu. EVERYTHING was beyond 100%. It was very reasonably priced. There is no doubt that Darwin, Katherine and their team loves their job and making the experience very enjoyable. Thank you so much Darwin and Katherine, one of our most memorable dining experience. We will be back! :

Walked in randomly after getting a hair cut. The place was a little small but the family owned business didn’t disappoint. I got a chicken bowl which was full of flavour. Took some other pics to post as well. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant serves halal food

My first time trying Darwin's chicken and I was very pleased. The minute you enter you smell the charcoal, which makes you even more hungry. I had the quail eggs in tempura which were crunchy and matched well with the sauces they give you. The chicken looked amazing! It tasted really good and is served hot.Food: 4/5

I accidentally discovered Darwin’s last month and have now gotten food from there 3 times this month. If you haven’t gone before, think…. Nandos chicken, but with an island and Filipino flare. Recommended items are coconut and mango shakes, chicken must try with all of the amazing dipping sauces, desserts are 10/10 and my favorite is the island rice. I’ve only had take out and delivery, but the ladies working the till are very sweet and take time to explain the menu. If I can make any suggestions, adding a few soul food type sides hot macaroni & cheese, cold potato & egg salad, and corn bread would take this place over the top for me!!!!! It’s all about the sides! I also wish the garlic bread had way more garlic flavour. And the vibes to eat in look so cool but the place is small inside to I always take-away. Love this little gem. We tried here after hearing about it from others. I got the quarter chicken leg with the fries and buttered corn and my boyfriend got the chicken sisig. The quarter chicken was okay but you can find better chicken for a better deal. I think my order was definitely a bit pricey for what I got. The fries are just okay and the corn tasted of nearly nothing, perhaps because it's not in season right now, which implies they're using fresh corn, which I can appreciate. The chicken sisig was pretty tasty. The application of the chicken and rice was a little strange, I was thinking the chicken would have come on top of the rice but it was on the side so there were lots of pieces flying everywhere but it was still good. I think the price of this one is better than what I got. I think the Filipino selections are better than the western ones.

Checked out this place a few days ago. We picked this place based on the high googe reviews. We were happy with the food. Tropical rice bowl was da bomb and the dippuling sauce was great. The only critiques would be that our chicken was lacking some sear on the skin and the coleslaw was lacking in flavour. I would be rating 4.5 stars if I could.

Super super good. Came in at 7:30pm last night. Ordered food and it came out probably like 10, 15 minutes afterwards. Tasted super fresh. Got the pamilya platter and of course chicken sisig. Super hungry so couldnt get the initial photo lol.Food: 5/5

We went there yesterday to have my birthday lunch before heading to Banff. They provided amazing service and food was great. Chicken sisig ang Mango Graham shake was my daughter's favorite. We will surely come back.Food: 5/5

The food here tasted really authentic and juicy. I’ve never tried chicken over charcoal before and I was really happy with the results. The staff is also amazing, they really make you feel welcome Highly recommend, and will surely be coming back.Food: 5/5
