Overall I had a great dinner here! The food was very good. Caesar salad was very good for being a Caesar salad- they put their own twist on it and tasted great. Uni spaghetti was delicious as was the American NY steak. We opted to get a side of mashed potatoes since I read so many reviews about them, and it was definitely worth the extra $5! Creamy deliciousness. I’m only knocking off a star because they were a bit slow on service even though the restaurant was half empty. They were were very friendly staff though. It seemed like more of an issue in the back of the house and how fast they were cooking vs the front of the house. Definitely worth coming back at some point.
We tried out most of the items on restaurant week menu with a big group. Overall highly recommend the salmon carpaccio appetizer and squid ink spaghetti! The ice cream of the day was really good too. Other items are tasty but don’t particularly stand out. The rice salad is served with cold rice which I’m not a fan. Wagyu linguine is decent. The three steaks are good too but don’t I’m not particularly amazed by them. The vanilla pudding is a little too sweet to taste
There are so many places to eat in Seattle so we are always wanting to try new ones. We were out in Wallingford so we decided to grab some eats here. The service was absolutely awful and this is why I'm giving it 2 stars which is such a bummer. The food was really good especially their edamame. We were all impressed with that appetizer. Crazy cause you usually wouldn't call that dish out but it was really good! The onion soup was delicious and had great flavor. They bring out the whole onion and pour the broth over it when they bring it out. It was a good touch. Also the tuna tar tar was super good and had a wonderful presentation. We got the special for the night which was steak. It was too charred for me. The Mac and cheese was so creamy! We had to ask the sever to remove our plates and he even came over and picked up the plates and set them back down just to grab the menus. We were like what is he doing?! We had to constantly get his attention to even order drinks. If he stayed on top of it and brought more drinks when we were out he probably could've made a bigger tip cause we would've spent more. We also had to walk up to the bar to get our bill. Just all bad. Good food but that's it. It's not fun when you spend a lot of money and get horrible service. It's too bad.
This place is indeed the best steak house in Seattle. The food quality and customer service and the waitress comes and checks on my table all the time to make sure I don't need anything. I loved the fact that I never had to raise my hand or even look at the waitress to ask for service. I also loved the tasty food they have. I believe this place is a fantastic place for fine dining to take your loved ones and family. Make sure you try their Wagyu beef as the beef literally melts in your mouth, also the way they delivered the starters, then the main dish and the absolute great timing before the main course then appetizers were absolutely great. Its a must try and I am definitely coming back to this location
This is our favorite and go to spot because it hits all the marks: - food is delicious and such a high quality - atmosphere is relaxed and warm - service is top notch It’s a quaint restaurant maybe 8-10 tables and is definitely meat focused Wagyu, steak, etc. They have salads, pasta, non traditional sushi, and really unique spins on classic desserts. How they do the flavor combos I’ll never understand but it’s phenomenal. If you weren’t too sure about dinner they have an awesome happy hour and the drinks are also really good. We’ve come here eight or so times and have no complaints. Chef, you’re doing a fabulous job!! Ps. Their menu changes from time to time so something you had last time may not be there in the future
The food and the ambiance was just lovely and if you love a good steak I definitely recommend to try the American Wagyu. The staff was also super helpful and friendly. Will come back again, hopefully in the near future:
Finally got to try the famous Kokkaku. Wine list was not good : . Seems my friend enjoyed his drink. The two main dishes we ordered, the beef pasta and the duck risotto were super good. The flavor was prevalent but not overly sauced or salty, just perfect. The wagyu entre that’s seared was super flavorful as well. Table space wasn’t much but aside from that it was a good experience
Great food and experience overall despite the kitchen mishap. Came here for our 4th anniversary at 7pm and turned into our longest ever dinner at 2.5 hours I devour my food in 5 min on average because the entrees showed up at 9pm. Don’t think any other table had long waits 3 tables who came after us got their entrees before we did, so we just had bad luck. Turns out they ran out of the cowboy ribeye; but that should’ve been solved way faster even so. Food quality was great and service was awesome even before the waiter and waitress had to make up for the situation. Would give them another try.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! This Japanese restaurant is FANTASTIC. The food was out of this world and the staff were the absolute best. I will definitely be making this a frequent stop for dinner when I'm in town. You should, too!
Do not recommend for SRW. They WAY overbooked themselves. They have one bartender, one server, and one hostess for the entire restaurant. We were there for 2.5 hours in a pre-fixed menu for Seattle restaurant week. Multiple tables around us had to get up to ask for checks. One table literally left to go get ice cream because they had waited so long just for their appetizers! Their focus food-wise is on making something instagrammable, not flavorful. I will compliment them on the wagyu steak flavor, but it was tough and difficult to cut. We asked for 2 steaks medium rare and one medium and she brought 2 medium and 1 med rare. When we told her it was wrong she just stared at us like one of us needed to get over it and take the second medium, which we eventually did since it had been and hour and 40 minutes. The onion soup was bland. The tuna tartare was bland. The desserts we had to take to-go because we’d been there for over 2 hours at that point. The service was just not there. Our waitress didn’t pay any attention to us or anyone else for that matter. I had to get up and ask someone when our main course was coming because we’d been there for 90+ minutes and still hadn’t seen it. Then when we finally did finish eating, the waitress literally asked if it was time for the check before bringing dessert even though the entire SRW menu is basic and she’d served 50 of them that night and another woman had to tell her no, they have dessert coming. The bartender was so busy bussing tables that he wasn’t making or pouring drinks, so we waited over 20 minutes for our first round. No surprise - we didn’t order a second, not that the waitress even noticed our glasses were empty. And honestly, I can’t even blame the staff because they were totally overwhelmed, but the management should know better than to book that many reservations with so few people working. Just don’t go for restaurant week. They’re probably better normally.
