This community centre is across from a high school, so expect to see teenagers, and it becomes very busy for the same reason. Parking is available, but is difficult depending on the time of day. There's a gymnasium, ice rink, fitness centre with two rooms, hot tub, sauna, and change rooms with a large shower area. Most of the equipment are of the newer models.
Love this rink. Nothing quite like a ice rink in Canada. They are often just as important as the grocery store or school in Canada. That being said.....this one is awesome all on its own. Situated in the hart of Kits, it has had the pleasure of teaching generations of kids the freedom of an ice surface. Go teach your kids to fly.
I've only been here in the morning on a drop in. It's decent for a community centre. It was somewhat busy, but I didn't have to wait for anything. Things aren't super brand new and there aren't a ton of machine as a regular gym, but I've seen much worse. The clients who attend for the most part just mind their own business, go in and go out. The front desk staff are helpful and explain a lot to you. Not sure if the membership price is justifiable however, I don't use all the services I imagine the membership covers. It's small, but I think if you time when you go there properly, it does it's job for a lot of people.
One of the best Community Centres in Vancouver - very client-centred staff and the fitness centre is updated and modern and has a sauna and hot tub available. Lots of community rooms for different groups and a youth centre that is always busy no matter the season. High marks!
