Seems the cooked food under temperature. The shrimp & veggie tempura is oily. Food is basic but for the price I expect a bit more in terms of quality. If they don’t improve, this restaurant might end up closing in the future. I hope not!
It is one of the remaining all you can eat restaurants in Metro Vancouver. Food taste is only average. Service is good. Price is above average for the regular menu items. It was the first time I saw a restaurant using a plate to serve katsu don with a stainless steel spoon. I felt like i was in a HK style cafe.
When I get the AYCE craving, I come here. Today's food quality was better than my last visit. Sushi is passable, as usual, but the cooked food has improved. Service was quick and friendly. $20.95 for lunch AYCE and if you add another $8, you can have tuna and salmon sashimi all you can eat. See photo with pricing and menu items.
They keep increasing the price when comparing previous menus, the special dinner is 44.95$ or they have a smaller limited selection for 32.95$. Their menu says they’re open until 11:30pm but on the door, they close at 930pm - last call us around 830pm. Food is not bad, compared to “Richmond Ninkazu” which is a place we used to frequent but aren’t going back, that’s why we decided to try this place. It was hard to find waitresses at first to give your paper menu to so don’t expect service to be the greatest.
Not the best sushi, but it's definitely the best "All you can eat" sushi and the prices are very affordable and fair. The service is OK and definitely could be improved, often having to wait for 5-10 minutes for them to take your order. Still a great experience with friends!
Came here for a late all you can eat lunch. Good service. Definitely ate our fill. All the maki, sashimi, nigiri, and other items were fresh and good quality. If you like all you can eat sushi, then you will be able to enjoy this place. Will keep it in mind for future visits.
Finally! Some good quality seafood that is also filling in Vancouver. For less than $25 per person we went to Kisha Poppo for their all you can eat lunch special. We were skeptic all since there were so many negative comments but we thoroughly liked the restaurant and here is why! 1. Each person gets 4 pieces of FREE tuna/salmon sashimi and they were not regular sized but larger than normal! We were thrilled to have such fresh fish included for lunch! 2. A lot of reviews says their rice is too big for sushi but I don’t think that’s a bad thing! Yes their rice size is larger BUT the fish slice on top are also bigger than normal! The fish slice on top is large enough to wrap the front and back of the rice of the sushi I so wish I took more photos before I dug in! 3. There are underrated items in their lunch special! I think they did a great job on the chicken karaage and teriyaki. I wish I could have eaten more of these! It was crunchy and juicy, it was so so good. 4. They give you two ordering rounds and I think that this is a great system to save time and avoid food waste! In the first round I would try menu items that interest you in the first round in smaller portions like one or two per item and then write down what you absolutely love in the second round of ordering in larger portions later! I hope these tips helped and you will give this local restaurant a try! Thank you for a wonderful experience Kisha Poppo staff, hope to visit again next time I’m in town.
By far the best cheap ayce sushi in greater Vancouver. We used to only go to Ninkazu as that is the only option but the quality is so so bad. We ventured off further to this place and it will now be our go to place. Firstly, the price is cheaper than Ninkazu. Weekday and weekends have the same price of $20.95. Secondly, the food is so much better. The fish is fresh. The slices are thick. Lunch comes with complimentary pieces of nigiri. The tuna came from a better cut and was melt in your mouth. The tempura is good and freshly made whereas Ninkazu had stale ones. I'm so glad this place has sunonomo. That was one thing Ninkazu took off the menu. It serves to cut through the oily taste. The seafood motoyaki was very oily and contained mostly pieces of salmon. The cones were stuffed full of sashimi. Definitely will come here for all my ayce sushi cravings. -----edit----- Came here 1 month later and they already increased the price to $22.95. The food is still the same - fish is fresh, hot foods came hot. Some things to note - chicken katsu is a yakitori katsu. Veggie koroke is 99% potato. They added more rice to the nigiri compared to the last time I came. -----edit----- Dec 4 - increased the price again to $24.95. Now it has come to the point of whether it is worth it. Their tempura isn't very fresh now and their pieces of fish are thinner.
This has to be the worst sushi I have ever had in my life. We tried the rolls, sashimi, and tempura on the lunch all you can eat menu. Everything tasted frozen, it was as if they served us sushi from a super market freezer. It all tasted frozen, old, and disgusting. We ate 8 individual pieces of sushi between 2 people and couldn't bare to eat anymore. We paid the full $50 and left hungry and grossed out. I would highly recommend against visiting this place, even as an AYCE it is not worth it.
The food has bad quality. The chicken karaage are chicken wings. It is expensive for the lack of quality. The manager does not have good customer service . We just won't come back.
