Completely fenced off. Water Bowls for the pups. Clean and has a nice pond with birds in the middle but also fenced. We take our pups before the crack of dawn and is usually empty but can get busy the rest of the day.Off-leash dog area: Yes
If you like to walk while your dogs run, this is an easy place to do it. The sidewalks are swept after snowfall, which is nice. There are two entrances, both with what I call "dog locks" double gates with decent latches and a bit of space for transitioning in and out of the park. As with the other off-leash areas in Airdrie, there are poop bags and garbage cans. Neither entrance has much in the way of parking, but it seems to work. The paved walking path is a loop that takes about 10 minutes to walk around, very open with a fenced off pond in the centre. The pond is not available for swimming, either for dogs or people. The park itself is fully fenced. It can be seen from the #2 highway but is actually accessed from the industrial/commercial part of the King's Height neighbourhood.
Great place to stroll with your dog off leash. Always lots of other furry friends to play with. Catch pond is fenced off, so doggies do not enter. 2 parking areas - 1 in SE corner, another in NW corner
Very nice park, people for the most part pick up after the dogs, nice distance for personal exercise as well, I like that there are garbage bins at opposite corners so I don't have to carry poop all the way around. If I could add anything would be a rest bench for older people facing west side, it is a beautiful view at sun down and it would be nice to not have to stand in the trail to rest.
Great spot. Can get windy but that is due to the amazing mountain view along side the great view of the highway. Kind of cool for car watching. The path is fairly even with multiple parking lots one either side for great access. Lake is fenced off, so no dog swimming. Not sure how it will look once the new overpass is done.
We go regularly and it’s set up great! Fully fenced in, and a nice loop for people to walk. The loop is somewhat shaped like a donut, so if you want some space from a particular person/dog, it’s easy to stay separate. Me and my little guy go everyday and it’s awesome.
Decent place if you want to go for a bit of a walk. There's a paved path that surrounds the pond, and it's usually shoveled in the winter. Unfortunately the water there is disgusting and I have heard lots of people tell me their dog got parasites or I'll from the water there. It's also had a problem with blue green algae. Thankfully the water is now fenced off.
This park is pretty slick, love the loop idea. Usually bring my skates and roll with my dogs for a few laps to tire them out and let them do their business. Great for the kings heights and Lanark community. I only worry what will happen once the new south bridge opens with the road backed right up to the south end of the park.
Love this park and so does my GSD Saphira. It's great having the pond in the middle, helps the dogs cool off on those hot summer days! The fact that its fully fenced is just a great safety bonus. Thanks for such a great space Airdrie!
The nearby construction makes the park muddy and the temporary fences they have up aren't secure and smaller dogs could easily escape.
