Story

King Mahal Restaurant Ltd. was originally founded in 1996 in Vancouver and has been established for almost 20 years. King Mahal Restaurant serves traditional North Indian cuisine, our restaurant specializes in keeping our food Fresh, Simple, and Healthy - we use low sodium and keep our fat content to a minimum whenever possible.

When the restaurant was first created we offered a unique and exotic dining-in experience that we still uphold today; however, with the changing times we have expanded our services to include: take away service, home delivery service, catering service, and we feature a buffet service. Our restaurant is fully licensed and we are currently located in the North Burnaby district.

Best Indian food I have had anywhere. Everyone I have taken there, including those familiar with North Indian food loved it. Indeed when I ask where shall we order from, it's always the first choice. I noticed a couple of low scores - FAKES? Maybe - all are dated 2 years ago ... before Google was checking. It's a short walk from where I live and I eat there as often as I can. Staff are friendly, efficient, easy to talk to. Check for yourself!

I ordered the Shah Jhani Biryani and to be honest it was not worth the $17 I paid for. The order was mainly rice and there was not even a lot of chicken. I received 5 little cubed pieces of chicken and I am wondering if I am paying mainly for the rice or what. I ordered cutlery, I did not get any, I do not know if the restaurant expected me to use my hands. Very disappointing indeed! I even had to walk to Starbucks to ask for cutlery and a straw. Definitely never ordering from this restaurant again.

Their service was really good but their food could have been better. It looked amazing but none of the food had the right amount of salt. It was disappointing.

i ordered the food (ShAh Jhani Biryani with chicken) online and when the food came through, it was very spicy and it was full of rice and i had to look for the meat only to realize that they had put 4 tiny pieces of meat which was not enough for the rice they gave me. we also ordered cutlery which they didn't even put in the bag and no straws too like i had to walk around looking for them since i was at school in the library. i did call the manager and he wasn't helpful at all, like what makes him think am ever going to order there again?! mxm

I've been an occasional patron of this wonderful Indian restaurant since its opening 7 years ago. The only thing that keeps me from dining here more often is that I'm an incorrigible cheap ass. Don't that to mean that the prices are steep; they are very modest, actually. A few minutes ago I dined on the Lamb Rogan Josh. The delightful Indian sauce (medium) is rather spicy, but that is leavened nicely with the exquisite long grained saffron rice. The house red wine is quite respectable (Santa Isabella), and perfectly complements the lamb and sauce. Yes sir/ma'am! The portion size was generous, and wanting to eat lightly, I took about half of it to go. When proprietor Kesh presented me with the bill it was a modest $29.88 all in, to which I added a 20% gratuity. Money well spent! Is this a biased review? Most assuredly, but don't let that slow you down. Get on over here for authentic Indian food in the Heights (Burnaby Heights). ☆☆☆☆ ☆
