I had a great experience at Karachi Highway Karahi! The atmosphere and the food were both great. We tried a multitude of items from Karahi to kebabs to roasted chicken, and everything was tasty! I’ll definitely go again and recommend you pay a visit as well!
Was searching for a restaurant near Dixie- Eglinton on a late Saturday night and almost every single restaurant around that area was jam packed and ready to close around 10-10.30pm. Luckily we found this gem which serves food until 1am. This too was packed till 10.30pm and the crowd dissipated after that. Special mentionto the waiter girl who served us . She was a really patient & polite person who explained the menu clearly. Service - 11/10‍ Coming to the food.. everything was as it should be.. price, quantity and quality 9/10 The interior was really colourful and nice Will visit again for the yummy food
What an impressive taste of Karachi. Friendly service, amazing food. We ordered chicken malai boti, chicken kaali mirch karahi, fry kababs, naan, limca and chai. Everything 5 stars. The food sent me back to Karachi. Fry kababs were the best, chicken karahi super impressive as I haven't had such good karahi in a very long time. Naans were fresh and crispy, chai strong. Ambiance of the place is very homely, all different neighborhoods of Karachi marked in plaques, decor and furniture to match. Most of all, the price are great, and very economical as compared to the serving size. Would definitely be going back again, a great spot for authentic, Halal flavors of Karachi!
had been wanting to visit this restaurant but the the times we tried it was extremely busy. Finally got to try this and oh boy was it a surprise in terms of the beautiful decor which give you the feel of highway dhaba’s . Just brightens up everything and keeps you intrigued and busy whilst you wait for the food. The girl who came to take our order was so well versed with the menu and had good recommendations which we took. She told us upfront it would take half and hour but to our surprise the food came in about 15mins! The Chicken Karachi was so flavourful and cooked to perfection. The Bihari kebabs were ok and the dal chana was ok too. Loved the giant tandoori rotis. Btw the menu is very limited to a few dishes. I do like the fact they ask why spice level you want your food. I wish they had a salad option! Overall service was good and the cutlet was clean. Like the stainless steel plate your given to eat your food on. Probably the first I have experienced apart from thali places! Did not see dessert options Btw you can view the kitchen and see them cooking your food if you are interested. Was fascinated that most of the cooks I saw via this glass were all women cooks!!! It’s a busy restaurant so parking can be a little challenging. it’s opened till late which is such a plus point for late dinners. They do accept credit cards. Will def return
Bhumi our server was great she checked on us multiple times asked if we needed anything got us water refills and boxes to pack our food. She recommended gola kebab as bihari boti was out of stock and we are glad we went with her suggestion as gola kebabs were really good. She also asked how we liked the food towards the end all in all 5/5 for her attentive service. We ordered food it took roughly 30-35 mins for it to be ready. the naan size was quite good and they were generous with garnish/red onions etc as other places have been quite skimpy lately. i liked se ed a the paratha as well. Food was hot and it was worth the wait even though we were dying of hunger chicken karhai was good we got extra gravy. it was nice seeing the f b area represented in the decoration brought back memories. will be back to try bihari hopefully its stock next time around
First off it took 45+ minutes to get our food. I e never experienced this in my life. Food 6.5/10 Portions for bbq were tiny. For $14 malai boti there were literally 7-8 small pieces see photo Gola kabob $16 was good but portions small. Karahi was decent and tasted good. Washrooms 4/10 Need basic cleaning and some parts like faucets needed tending too. Service 3/10 Not even acknowledged when we walked in. Stood around and then found our own place to sit. They seem short staffed and the people working their are not interested in service. Owners please train and pay your employees to perform well so reflects on your business. The robot serving food was the biggest highlight 10/10
Great experience! Recommended dishes: regular karhai black pepper karhai Bihari kabab Limka Ras malai The black pepper karhai was not very spicy but tasted great! Ras malai and tea were awesome. Wouldn’t recommend Gulab jamun as they tasted stale . I would just like them to clean the carpets as they seemed dirty with food crumbs on them.
Why is this place so beautiful?? the atmosphere is authentic pakistani culture, and being from India i love each n every thing of this restaurant. Especially, i like the traditional sitting on floor is just mindblowing, if the ambience makes one glad then food is easily eaten.
Really delicious Karachi style food. Very enjoyable food overall and reasonably priced as well for the quantity and quality you get. The flavors are authentic and well balanced. Plus points: 1. The food was great. Really delicious and spiced well. The chicken karhai and the bihari kabab were the stars of rhe show.. and other bbq items like gola kabab were tender and made very well. 2. We arrived before the big rush. The food came out in just around 25 minutes from when we ordered it which was great. Our server was friendly and advised us well on the simple menu what to order for a party of 8. 3. The ambiance is interesting and a bit unique in that they have some floor seating style booths for families to sit down without table and chairs and really enjoy it dhaba style. Some unique Karachi truck stop style decor which seems nostalgic. They also have a larger party room downstairs for group reservations. Neutral: Restrooms were ok.. not the cleanest. The things that could improve: 1. Though the servers were friendly, the service seemed disorganized. They were running around doing random things as if they didnt have assigned roles and responsibilities. We had 3 different servers helping us which meant no one actually really owned our table. As a result the food came out, the naans came 5 to 10 minutes later, and our drinks another 10 minutes later when the food was half gone, and thats when some onions came out as our salad. Haphazard service to say the least. 2. Cleanliness needs some work. The restrooms were so so. From our seating area you could see their pos system and there were dirty brooms just stacked there and duck tape on the floor.. messy. The floor style seating sections were filthy on the bottom needing some basic elbow grease. Considering the number of servers walking around they should be cleaning and scrubbing this place down before a busy saturday night to impress their guests. 3. Missing the finer details of good service. Using single use plastic cups and plastic throw away cutlery at a sit down done in restaurant says you are too lazy to wash dishes and would rather use single use plastic and create garbage.even the raita is served in throw away cheap single use plastic. Very irresponsible for a restaurant. There was a paan station setup with no paan and nobody to ask about it standing by it. If it isnt ready move it away. There is a nice look in window to the kitchen when you walk in but you can see the kitchen is not well organized and setup as a show space. Its just a window into a semi messy kitchen. What could have been impressive show space is a bit of a meh experience when you do look in. Overall the food was great and service was friendly and fast and ambiance is decent so we will be back. If they clean things up and stop using single use plastic and creating so much garabage and get organized with their staff we will be back.. but happily. Parking: 25
It's a good restaurant serving great highway dhaba style food. If you enjoy greasy great tasting food, this is your joint. Not for the faint hearted. Their fries were unique. Menu is simple but wholesome. Highly recommend the Karachi fry, and beef kebabs. Servers are very helpful and courteous. Overall, a pleasant outing for beginning our weekend.
