The quality of the fish is delicious, however I would stay away from the spicy rolls as the sauce they put on top can be over whelming. The sushi rice could be a bit firmer. The ebi mayo was plated like it was a Chinese dish with shrimp chips and all and the same spicy sauce is quite overwhelming. Overall the food is good however my issue is with the service. Seems the restaurant is understaffed and kitchen orders can take a while. There was an unfortunate incident where one dish was wrong and they failed to fix the issue which soured our night out as you parents know, a night out is hard to come by. I won’t be back.
Decent spot for izakaya on Main St! Not busy at all when we went so very prompt service. Takoyaki came out nice and hot. Chicken skewers were just mediocre but the aburi sushi was really good! Squid rings were also delicious but wish it was a bigger portion.Recommended dishesAburi Salmon Oshi Sushi 6 Pieces
Food was over all okay, but some hot items are still cold inside… feels like frozen food microwaved but not long enough…. Taste is good. The server was nice.
Sushi was overall good. Hard to review higher or lower because we only shared a few dishes. No photo to show but the agedashi tofu was our favourite.
I liked it! Went with my friends and enjoyed. Place is nice and quiet, everybody was nice and kind Food was tasty and good representation slightly pricy but it's vancouver so understandable Would definitely go there again since other places near that neighborhood seemed quite loud if needed
I honestly debated between a 4 and a 5 star here but ultimately settled on 5 because of the level of service. I wavered on 4 due to some of the pricing but after some careful thought I came to the conclusion that the quality of the items were most definitely worth their price tag. Unfortunately we ate the sushi faster than I could think of taking a picture of it, but it truly tasted amazing. We ordered the Crazy Salmon and it was so rich and creamy with a melt in your mouth feeling. We also ordered the Torched Salmon with a Jalapeño topping and the quality was just as good. The establishment itself has table separated by dividers and overall felt clean and well maintained. Our server was patient and very friendly. We often would ask what the chef was making because it smelled so good or looked amazing and our server would find out for us. The server also gave us more time to figure out what we wanted since it was our first time there. The images attached were Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki Pancake and the Wasabi Tacos. The Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki were sooooo good! Melt in your mouth and full of flavor. Definitely recommend this spot! A bit on the pricey side but the quality of the food, the service and the establishment itself speaks volumes.
After being refused to serve at Seiza, Kaori was our next best option at 9 pm. As we entered, a server dropped a tray of dishes on the floor and you can imagine the scene followed by the smell of bleach after cleaning the spot. There was a loud table with a drunk uncle that turned out to be the chef's friends. The food is good and nothing to complain about. We found the prices maybe 10_15% higher than the restaurants on the same level and perhaps this is going to be a usual practice after COVID. Miso soup was good with adequate amount of seaweed and tofu. The tuna salmon sashimi combo was okay too, fresh and satisfactory size of sashimi. The Crazy Salmon Roll, $16, was nothing crazy. In fact, it was a bit blunt and missed some sauce. The servants were quick and responsive, but the chef handled the food with no mask or hair net. Some staff thought the stacked plates was a the best place to leave some keys and earbuds.
Peaceful environment with friendly service. Really enjoying with a few friends. A very good place to chill.
Best and freshest sashimi I’ve had in Vancouver. Service was top notch and all of the staff were super friendly upon entering, dining, and upon leaving. Gives off being in an actual Japanese restaurant vibe, and the restaurant was small and cozy. Accessible parking right outside as well. Thank you! Partner and I will be back in the future when we visit Vancouver again.
This is our go-to restaurant . If we don’t have enough energy to try a new place, we always come here because it’s guaranteed that it will be overall a good experience. Every dish we tried was amazing and we tried almost the whole menu since last year. Everything is always super tasty and fresh. Service is awesome, they never check if you are doing “okaaaaayy??” in every other minute like any other place but they are also very fast when you order some food or drink no matter how busy the place is. It’s always very clean, you’d never find a sticky spot on your table, crumbs on the floor or any funny smell that would ruin your appetite which is really hard to find on Main Street area. I’ll add a special note for the washroom; it always smells like it was cleaned a minute ago Especially when you think all the restaurants/bars that smells like public washroom all the time, it’s refreshing. Everyone seems like hardworking people who do their jobs with care and attention. We enjoyed every moment we spent here, will be back again and again Thank you!
