With so many Japanese restaurants in this city, and even quite a few on Main Street, Seiza has done a great job to stand out from the rest, in my opinion. They have fresh ingredients, prepared with care and decent service, but more importantly I find the it’s good value for what you get. We ordered quite a few dishes to share, but their assorted sashimi was quite worth the value. The fish were all fresh and generous portions. Sushi were all done on point as well, aburi was good, albeit pricey compared to other items on the menu. The extra torching does cook the fish a bit, in turn it heats up the fish and brings out the fat, which makes it more delicious. The tempura was done properly with a thin yet crunchy coating. Even though they have quite a large menu, I’m confident that after sampling a good number of dishes that they do put care in quality control. In terms of service they lean more towards “flag down a server if you need something” style, but that being said, we did have several waiters come and ask if we needed anything throughout both of our visits. I’ve paid them two separate visits, 6 months apart and they’ve been consistent. Happy to see they’re doing well still during the pandemic and looking forward to going back again soon.
Came here on a Saturday night and it was super busy but the staff came and checked on us often! The vibes were great, tables distanced well and food was amazing! Food came quick and was well portioned and tasted fresh and service was great! Would highly recommend to go back and try other dishes as their menu was huge!
Don't be fooled by the exterior. The interior is cute, warm, and decorated with fun brickbears. Like most Japanese style restaurants, the kitchen is open and visible. We were seated right away and the dishes came out quickly. Everything was so tasty. We especially recommend the salmon carpaccio and lobster rolls. Extra pieces of lobster are deep fried and hidden beneath the shell as an extra surprise treat. The whole meal was lovely and the staff were nice. The menu has a lot of unique offerings from most sushi places. You won't be disappointed.
It’s pretty good, I love their sexy salmon roll, the steam egg, and tuna tataki And sake tasting !! the only thing we don’t like was they didn’t tell us there’s extra charge for the tea when they ask us for tea or water. Otherwise everything is good !
Wonderful Japanese food here! I love this is on Main Street which not too far from home. The ambiance was buzzing with excitement with people gathering together for birthday, date nite, friends get together etc... We had: - sockeye salmon tempura - yaki soba with chicken - chicken teriyaki - miso soup - salmon rolls The service was outstanding with great conversations with the staff!
A nice, casual experience, with lots of selections to choose from off the menu. The food and ambiance was very good. Service was satisfactory but could be a bit more attentive.
We had a 6 PM reservation, arrived about 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. Our server was very pleasant and patiently helped us select various dishes from the menu. Our food arrived very quickly, in fact we asked that they slow down a little so we could enjoy the dishes. All the food was at just the right temperature, very well presented and delicious. I do recommend the restaurant & my only slight hesitation is it is a little pricey…..
Love the ambiance of this restaurant. The oshi sushi was yummy! The snow crab udon was confusing. I think they need to redo this recipe. We originally ordered uni udon but they sold out. The poke was served in a big wooden salad bowl and I liked how easy it was to mix the ingredients. Can’t wait to try other menu items!
Tall ceilings with large exposed wooden beams... I knew that I've felt this vibe before and it turns out it's the former location of Zipang Provisions but it's been about 7 years since I visited that place. Seiza has a nice selection of Japanese dishes to choose from. Spinach gomaae was generously portioned with just the right amount of sauce. The thin slices of beef tataki just melted in my mouth. Assorted sashimi consisted of fresh squid, octopus, surf clam, tuna, sockeye salmon, lean tuna, and hamachi. The chef roll was really refreshing and made with a rice paper wrapper encasing tuna, sockeye salmon, shrimp, avocado, chopped scallop, and sockeye salmon. Nice oyster motoyaki served on onions and spinach. The assorted tempura was also good except for the broccoli which turned out a bit mushy and I like that it comes with matcha dipping powder. Overall, this is all good not necessary cheap but worth it.
We had a family dinner at Seiza Japanese Cuisine. They have a large menu with a mixture of traditional Japanese foods, and some fusion items which I would describe as Japanese, with a Western twist. For instance, they serve something called "Zombie Brain". No, it's not made of Zombie brains! It's deep fried avocado covered with crabmeat and spicy tuna. Even before going to dinner, I checked out the menu online and was happy to see things like Zaru Soba and Okonomiyaki on the menu. Both of them are items I hadn't seen on a menu for a long time. I love them both and wish that more Japanese restaurants would include those items on their menu. Zaru Soba is something I havn't had in quite a number of years and so I was really hoping to order it at Seiza. It turned out to be a cooler day when we went to Seiza however, and the cooler weather made me feel like ordering something warmer for my stomach. I opted for the Vegetable Okonomiyaki which arrived at the table on a sizzling hot cast iron pan. Mmmmm...so good! Don't regret it at all. Will get my Zaru Soba fix some other time! The Lobster Roll was quite an eyecatcher and yummy to eat as well. Their menu is huge and has so many interesting options for both hot and cold foods. Zaru Soba Poke for instance...that caught my eye and peaked my curiosity. They also have something called Snow Crab Cream Udon on their menu. Most Japanese restaurants serve standard items like Chicken Udon and Nabeyaki Udon, but this is the first time I've seen Snow Crab Cream Udon on the menu. Highly recommend this place for quality food, and a wide variety of options for both traditional and modern. There's plenty on the menu, cooked or non cooked, for people with varying taste palates whether they are adventurous foodies who like to try new things, or people who prefer to stick to more traditional and familiar food items.
