Kal's Place Restaurant

I will drive from anywhere in the city to go have breakfast at Kal's. It's small, but the potatoes are worth it. They are the BEST breakfast potatoes in the city. No onions add on if you want, pan fried not deep fried! and perfectly cooked and seasoned every time. I get them to go, I get them to eat in. They are the ultimate comfort food. The eggs are always cooked perfect too. I'd love to try Kal's pizza as I hear it's also amazing, but I just can't stop coming for breakfast. I like to sit at the bar, as the staff is always delightful.

What a wonderful hidden gem in this corner of Kanata!! If you are looking for a busy and homey breakfast diner of yesteryear, this is the perfect place. It's almost like you step into the movie set of Corner Gas and visit The Ruby. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the service is quick and nice, the food is served hot and fresh in generous portions. And what I loved especially was getting served some coffee immediately after entering before ordering!!! Love it first thing in the morning : Now don't all come here at the same time, it's so busy it might be hard to get a spot during rush hours! But they have all day breakfast so if you come later its still available

I visited in a Sunday around 9:30 and it was crowded. We had to wait for +- 10 minutes to have a sit, but the experience was really good! The food was tasty and the waiters were super kind. Recommended!

Service was quick and friendly. Good selections and flexible to change things up a bit. Family oriented for sure. It was a delicious breakfast and cooked just right. Not a lot of natural light. The only downside is that it was a bit on the expensive side. #localguide

The food was delicious and very crispy. The fries were AMAZING and tasted like something you’d fine at a good chip wagon. I had the club sandwich and was super tasty. We also had one of the best customers service hear! The lady that served us was so much fun we had an awesome conversation with her!!

a great local diner/pub. visited mid-week for lunch, it was pretty busy. I had a simple BLT $11 which came with a generous portion of fries and small coleslaw. It was very good and an excellent value only critique would be the bread was marginally over toasted, but not so much to detract from my score, might simply be my peference. Service was attentive and friendly. food came in under 15 min. my friend had a hot chicken sandwich which looked excellent and he commented how good the gravy was.

Great spot if you're in the mood for a quick greasy breakfast! The prices need to be updated on their website because at the time we went there was a $2-$3 difference for a basic Bacon and eggs. I knocked off 2 stars because the clump of bacon I got tasted like it was sitting in a warming plate for a long time. Well cooked but very soggy. Also, their "famous" potatoes are very bland and took up 1/2 my plate. The service was great! I love how they are open early!

This is a favorite breakfast place since my "discovering" it in the spring of 2022. More recently I tried the spaghetti and meatballs and I'm very pleased to say it is now my favorite spaghetti and meatballs. It's "low on fancy" but high on flavor and is a generous portion for the price. There's some celery & peppers in here, but other than that it's a basic spaghetti and meatballs in meat sauce... very home style in a good way. Parking: Plenty of parking

Amanda and Kim are the staples to make this the diamond of both Kanata and Stittsville. KalAlso around for a chat makes an amazing breakfastbest bacon in Ottawa imo that brings me back over and over again! Fully recommend for both price and quality, never let down here. Kid-friendliness: Families are definitely welcome, high chairs and boosters are available on request. Parking: Large parking lot attached to this Stripmall, never an issue.
