"Before moving to our new location in June 2001, Joseph’s was located at Concord and State Streets on Saint Paul’s West Side where we spent nearly 15 years building a loyal following of patrons. Decent restaurant, nothing special except the prices! Very reasonable in the age of fast rising costs. The walleye roast sandwich was ok, the tartar was pretty much mayo. Not work going out of your way to eat at but if you're looking for a reasonably priced American diner, this is your spot! Staff was extremely friendly and the dining room, and bar are very roomy.
Prices are certainly very reasonable here! It was less than $40 for me and my 2 children and we got sodas, a beer for me and 3 entrees. I got the tortellini and my kiddos each got the spaghetti and meatballs. Overall, food was good, I found my tortellini to be a little on the salty side but I do think that was because of all the different meats in it pepperoni, prosciutto, sausage Overall, good environment & good service!
You know what, this was a good experience. The bartender made my drink perfect. Then blue drink you see in the photo is a ‘Audios MF’ and it’s worth adding to your rotation. You will love it! Clean place, big bar, big parking lot. Give them a shot.
Went here for a working lunch and was not disappointed. The employees were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. Prices weren't too bad either. I definitely recommend. Parking: Plenty of parking.
Great atmosphere and food! Lovely day to be out on a patio, gotta soak up the Minnesota weather while it is above zero! The French Onion soup was wonderful and just what I needed! I also had the Portobello Mushrooms sandwich and that was fantastic! Those that were with me had beautiful meals but unfortunately did not share! I will be back for more!
Food was very tasty I had the Tortellini, and very generous portion. Not giving it 5 stars because I had the feeling my waitress couldn't wait to get rid of me restaurant was more than half empty: as soon as I finished eating, check was placed on the table. I managed to flag her down and ask for coffee, which she basically slammed on the table. No spoon, no cream, no sugar. When I asked for that, I felt like I had asked for the moon... So yeah - great food. Period.
Food was awesome! Everything was cooked perfectly. The Hawaiian chicken sandwich was flavorful and very juicy. Very clean and the staff was on point! Will be back for sure.
Joseph's was pretty quiet when I arrived, they had a seat yourself sign up so I went to sit down and the waitress Ann was very attentive. The food was incredibly delicious, the side salad was mixed greens with a huge house made crouton, red onions, cucumbers and a tomato slice I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture before digging in I was in the mood for something comforting so I decided to order the tortellini haystack pasta and it was so good! I think they must've sauteed the meat before mixing it in the sauce because parts of it were slightly crunchy and chewy and the pasta was creamy and cheesy. All the entree's being brought to other customers looked good as well and the service was quick. I'll definitely go back there and try something else.
Got there at 3pm on a Sunday. They're normally close after 2pm on Sundays, but there was a Wild game, so they were open. We asked to sit in the dining room instead of the bar area because it was quieter for our group. They happily obliged. The food was excellent and our server was very timely with his service. I used to come here all the time when I lived in St. Paul. I've never had bad service. The food has always been good to great. The onion rings are superb and the meatloaf is delicious. Highly recommend! Parking: It can get dicey finding parking if the Wild are playing a home game. Joseph's has a shuttle bus service to Xcel Energy Center, so many people come here to pre-game then ride to the game. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps leading inside.
I have officially found the best french fries ever at Joseph's Grill. The sandwich was amazing too, and the service was efficient and friendly. I will be back!
