Rival House
"Here, in the heart of downtown St. Paul, you'll find an upscale, contemporary twist on casual dining. A place where hot, wood-fired pizzas come straight from the brick oven, and craft cocktails come straight from a classically trained mixologist. A place where you can grab a friend, grab a drink, and game on."

We came here for a work happy hour and had a few apps. The cheese curds were good and I really enjoyed the seasoned tots! The happy hour prices are unbeatable. I stopped back in for dinner the next night since it’s in my hotel. I had the chopped salad with beets and goat cheese and chicken. It was sooo good! I had planned to order a small side to take to the room but was full from the salad. Service is great as well.
Ordered take out because Rival House is nearby. I was craving pizza and wings and had never had food here before. The pizza was extremely underwhelming, mediocre. Flimsy which can be okay don’t get me wrong and tasted like a cheap frozen pizza you could find in a grocery store. The wings looked good from the pictures so I had to try them as well, however they are the ‘extra breaded’ fatty type of wings and proved to be mediocre as well, served with a pathetic little fast food container type of ranch. The bar restaurant itself looks sweet, I’d definitely go there to drink or play games, but maybe not the food? Not entirely as this has been the only items I’ve had on the menu. Save your money and eat somewhere else.
Went here for Happy Hour and dinner. Not a lot of options for vegetarians, but the place is really cool. They have board games and arcade games. Oh their Chocolate turtle cake is delicious!
Appetizers were good. Great, convenient location for staying at connecting hotel. However, our waitress only acknowledged us once our entire visit. Granted it was busy, but she still did not even apologize or communicate at any level.
My family is in town and we decided to come here for dinner as it’s in our hotel. It was the worst dinning experience I have very had. We wait had to 30mins for our drinks. We had to ask the waitress to take our dinner order or else who knows how long we would have had to wait. Only good thing was the food. The waitress forgot may things, drinks, a whole food order, forgot add-ons and she never would have noticed if we didn’t say anything. We had to find our own boxes for our food. We barely saw our waitress and our whole dinning experience took us amount 3 hours and we could get out of there past enough. Would not recommend.
Great, friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Good food at a good price. I'd go back, perfect for lunch or to watch a game.
Wr came in for a early dinner cuz we came from out of town to a concert. Arrived around 3:15. Sat at our table for 10 minutes before we got drinks. Even after our drinks we were never acknowledged to order food. Would never recommend coming here. If I could give negative stars I would.
Pretty fun place for food and fun! They have all types of board games, bubble hockey a new found fave of mine, ski ball, and shuffle board. Quarters to play ski ball and bubble hockey, but shuffle board is free which in our case was a bummer because there was a group that was literally on it for 2+ hours. Staff was friendly with good service. Prices were pretty steep though, $12+ for a cocktail.
Super short staffed. They work their employers to the bone it seemed like and it seemed like they were all overwhelmed. Our server did a fantastic job of keeping his composure! He seemed very stressed out and like he was carrying on more than any of the other servers and bartenders. And getting yelled at by one of them for trying to help out behind the bar when she was clearly super busy herself. It’s a fun environment if they can staff properly!
Meh food, terrible customer service. There are so many better restaurants to patron in Saint Paul: Saint Dinette, Luci Ancora, Punch Pizza, or Pizza Luce, just to name a few.
