Would come back and recommend, really attentive service and good quality jjamppong! — N3 Spicy seafood and pork noodle soup 4.5/5 - Definitely a favorite for me here, the soup is really flavorful and the noodles are the perfect size with the right amount of chewiness. My only critique is I think the dish could do without the pork - it’s dry and doesn’t really add to the dish considering everything else is D1 Sweet and sour pork 4/5 - Really surprised at the portion size for a S, and also appreciated that the sauce was in a separate bowl. The highlight was the sauce for me; it was the tangy but not too sour. The pork is average but still enjoyable as it’s deep-fried FYI, it doesn’t taste as good the next day so best to consume day of. N1 Black bean sauce noodles 3.5/5 - I ordered this for takeout and while the sauce was solid, the noodles were all stuck together and made it difficult to eat without properly heating it up. It would probably taste better dining in.
I ordered basic black bean noodle and a sweet and sour pork. First of all, like the picture I posted, the portion for the noodle was very small. Also it smelled like one of those already-made-noodle at the store. It looks like they buy those noodles and open up a packet and cook and then sell. The sweet and sour pork was okay. It was chewy in a good way not soggy at all. Overall, I wouldn’t go back to this place. It was alright but not worth to spend money.
2 for $20 and $16 after the promo! We got the seafood noodle and it was delicious. Mild spice with lots of seafood. The portions are huge. The food was wrapped great, so no spills, and was ready within 10 minutes. Would could back and recommend.
Let me start off by saying that if you’re looking for your typical Korean style Chinese food, this is not your place. I wouldn’t say the food was bad, just different… For example, if regular sweet and sour pork is 50% sweet 50% sour, the one here is 20% sweet 80% sour. The black bean noodles also tastes different compared to other places… almost like a homemade taste? This could be good or bad based on your preferences, but for someone who is accustomed to a more traditional taste, this place is not for me.
Super impressed by the attentive server who served us around 5-6pm today. We had family black bean noodles for two 2 and small fried chicken with spicy sauce . Fresh ingredients, fast service.
This place offers typical jjajjang myun and other related food. The jjambbong was not entirely my style because of the meat, as I am more accustomed to purely seafood style. The meat really absorbs a lot of flavor so it kind of counteracts the spiciness. The menu is kind of limited as you can see in the pictures but the pricing is not bad.
Super tasty! Noticed the new opening of this restaurant, and popped in for lunch. Their JJM and Jjampong was on point! Price $$ Service Definitely would come back.
New korean place in the area. Most of the Korean restaurants have been around for probably decades so this is would be a refreshing take. The menu is simple, with some noodle dishes, some rice dishes, and some other dishes that don't fall under the two categories. The portions are quite large for what you're paying and also quite flavourful. They don't offer that many options but the ones they do, they do pretty well.
I visited this place exactly 4 times, and yesterday will probably be my last. First 3 visits were very enjoyable, I liked the portions and taste of jjambbong and tang su yook. Since yesterday, they apparently changed their business model to transform into an izakaya. I understand that they can change for whatever reason, but the price they put on the changed portions is illogical. Tang su yook portion was less than half of what it was on my first 3 visits, and the fried rice had significantly less portion and they took out the jjambbong soup that comes with it and the jjajang sauce. For 13 dollar fried rice, you can take out the sauce and soup if you can guarantee good taste, but the taste was bland, no meat and I didn't know what the hell I was eating all throughout. I invited my group of 5 to come here yesterday, but unfortunately I was embarrassed that I brought them here and the group went to get kinton ramen across the street right after. The jjambbong we ordered was reasonable portion and taste however. I would have given 1 star but gave 2 because the service didn't have any issues and they did give 10% discount probably because we hinted that we were not happy with the experience. We did tip the full 15% even though others in the group suggested otherwise, because it wasn't the server or the employees' fault. My suggestion to owner is, customers are not , and really think about your new menu, portions and price. If you don't want your original customers that had good experience to come back, continue to do what you're doing. But if you want to actually have good business, then really think about it because even if you differentiate your business to serve Chinese Korean food as izakaya, you won't be able to compete to other izakayas around North York.
Agree with the review below that it’s not the typical Korean-Chinese flavours, it tastes more homemade. But it’s still good, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Price and service was great. I will go back soon to try other dishes.
