The place looks amazing the atmosphere is peaceful and quite traditional. The presantaton is beautiful and the owner is obviously a master of his craft. salmon, the salmon was to die for. price is good. The only complaint is most of the fish was frozen but it wasn't just tuna and salmon there. Overall definite 10/10 will return.Food: 5/5
Spicy Agedashi tofu was excellent, as was the mixed tempura starter. Tuna avocado and spicy salmon rolls were also very good. The maguro and white tuna were small but tasty. The unagi was served without a sweet sauce and it was quite good. Our second time here and I’m sure we’ll be back. More affordable than Sima and almost as good.
We ordered 3 rolls, salad, and soup. The salad was plain and unremarkable. The rolls had too much sauce on them. They were large, but all you could taste was sauce. This meal felt like a filler, more than anything. But boy, was it ever satisfying. If you're starving, this is where you want to go. The deep fried Yum Yum roll was the most decent of the three rolls.
This used to be my favourite sushi place back when it was behind St. Lawrence. Still love the sushi; it’s fresh and the pieces are insanely huge. The price however, is not for the feint of heart, I paid more for what you see in my photo than I paid for three trays of sushi at another place. Can’t be a regular here anymore with prices like that so now it’s more of a once in a while type spot.
Excellent food, total gemRecommended dishesSushi Chicken Dinner Bento, Roll
The best sushi in Kingston!!!!
Recommended: Eel roll add extra cream cheese small pieces and Balckdragon roll add extra cream cheese less rice than Kame's, better than Kame's black dragon roll
Reviewing the Spicy Red Hot basically a spicy salmon, avocado roll, never had Maki size this big, 1 maki roll is the size of two regular sized rolls elsewhere. This is my second time trying this place, around $16 after tax. The first time the chef had doused the plate in sauce and it was overwhelming, this time I asked for light on the sauce as you can see. Very flavourful, and if you don't have a big appetite, after six rolls you're full and can save two for later. Comes with Miso soup not pictured and it was flavourful. In comparison to sushi barda on Princess St., I'll come back here again.
Great food, charming family owned restaurant, definately will go again for fresh sushi with a varried menu! Dietary restrictions: Great vegetarian and gluten free options!!
Best sushi in Kingston, best service, and cute cozy atmosphere. Love the maki platter!Food: 5/5
