Korean fried chicken is really great! The weight is also very sufficient! Honey butter tastes delicious, but it's a little greasy when you eat too much. Sweet and spicy flavor is a little spicy for me, after eating will always drink water. Great overall!! I will come back later
The fried chicken is legit here. Very crispy and juicy. Half and half was more than enough for 2 people to share. The cheese tteokbulgi was interesting, worth trying once. The pork kimbap wasn't what I expected. Not as flavourful as I wanted, and I was missing the other veggies that are usually included in the veggie/beef versions. I'll be skipping this one next time. Side dishes very limited, bean sprouts and kimchi. Could do better here.
Gangnam Style implies a posh & whimsical Korean lifestyle & dance, none of which you will find here! Instead it’s a down-to-earth food experience at this Kingston restaurant. This starts from the basic decor to the Korean lady traditionally running the kitchen. Menu prices were very reasonable, catering to the student demographic. Gam Ja Tang pork bone soup was a pleasant surprise, with large pieces of pork neck bone and fall-off-the-bone meat in the mildly spicy fresh kimchi broth. But the potato could’ve used more time to soak up the bold soup flavours. The colourful Bibimbap was served with a nice runny egg but the chopped vegetables caused stirred rice to be watery. That was atoned by a popping platter of Korean Seasoned Fried Chicken in sweet & spicy gochujang sauce. The boneless half portion was huge. Pieces were crunchy & saucy in one bite! This restaurant is a short drive up Princess St from downtown with city parking nearby. Both patio & indoor dining options were available. Service was smooth & easygoing. Glad to enjoy this spot for an authentic Korean meal among the few Asian food options in town.
The ambience is okay. Food was okay too. I personally did not like the Fried chicken with seasoning. I could taste the flour used to fry it. The pancake was great! Did not expect it to be that huge. Overall okay experience on expensive side.
My family enjoyed a delicious meal here tonight! You can tell the Korean food they serve here is authentic and homecooked. The service was attentive and friendly too. The waitress was really sweet and also gave us some tea after our meal as we waited for the rain to pass by. Highly recommend Gangnam Style for anyone living or visiting Kingston!
Disappointing. Ordered takeout and had somewhat high expectations; the bulgogi had little to no flavour, the spicy squid was good in flavour but had a fishier taste than we are used to with squid. Also had dumplings to start and they had zero taste.
Broth is not very strong compared with the Korean style food we tried in YEG, but still good taste. Had a good dinner there.
Enjoyed our bulgogi, boneless half & half chicken, and hot pot bibimbap. It was very delicious and it is the authentic Korean food taste which makes it awesome. The staff is friendly and their service is great. I highly recommend this place! Check this place out when you are wondering about what to eat for lunch or dinner.
I got the pork bulgogi and it was very good, my 5 friends and I all enjoyed our food. It came quickly, was served hot and tasted great. The only downside was the price in relation to the serving size. My meal was 21 bucks with a 20% tip and the plate wasn't that big. If it was maybe 4 bucks cheaper or so it would be perfect. Vibes were nice, name is dope. Overall good.
nice waiters and food was super filling and warm, although a little pricey
