Jerry's Fish & Chips

Jerry’s is a quintessential and superlative Mississippi catfish house. I have been eating here for over 30 years and little has changed — including some of the servers. The catfish filets are my go to — all you can eat, which yes is exactly that. They use Mississippi farm raised catfish, which is I’m opinion the gold standard of catfish. The filets are not thin nor overly plump. The breading is a fine cornmeal — and I suspect some small measure of flour. It is not as course as some breading, or “fry”. Speaking of fries — they are basic, but in the best sense. They hit home. Same for the hush puppies — nothing fancy, but homemade and good. One of the best Catfish houses in the South. And it is in a building that looks like an Igloo — how and why, but makes it even better!

I have to say this is some of the best catfish I have ever had! We stopped by on the way back to Indiana on a Sunday so it was pretty busy and expect a bit of a wait but well worth it to me. Servers were super nice and everything was amazing.Food: 5/5

For those of you who have passed the big igloo on Highway 49 and have wondered what that place is well let me tell you that it is some of the best fried catfish you will ever eat. You will have to wait in line so don't come and need to be somewhere else in a hurry. Some of the waitstaff have worked here for more than 15 years. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. The fish is fried to perfection. The fried dill pickles, hush puppies and coleslaw are delicious. They have all you eat fillets or whole fish. If you have not tried Jerry's Catfish you need to.

Went with my Mom on a early Saturday evening. We got to a table fairly quickly because we agreed to go up stairs. Food was good and it came fairly quickly after we finally got to order. Think our waitress was probably new so she gets a pass on the delay because it was extremely busy as usual. Always a favorite spot for our family. Well worth the trip. A small catfish plate was $15.00, if we had gotten all you can eat it would be $20. So price of meals are pretty standard for a decent dine in restaurant.

It's always a pleasure to dine at Jerry's Catfish House. Everything anyone could hope for in fine dining is certainly found here. A friendly face and pleasant voice greet and welcome you, excellent service, ample menu selections with reasonable prices in delicious main entrees and in excellent choices of appetizers and sides, in a clean and family friendly environment. Conveniently located with easy entrance and exit at the traffic light at US Highway 49 and Eagle Post Road, Florence Mississippi. Look for a big white igloo building. If you have dined here, then you already know this restaurant is certainly among the very best. If you haven't been here, then I strongly encourage you to dine here soon. We went there at 5pm on a Saturday night and place was pretty busy. Only had to wait about a minute and a half for a table. Server was there almost immediately to get out drink order. No wait on the drinks, ordered the all you can eat catfish. Came quick, hot and fresh along with the fries, hush puppies and slaw. Noticed as soon as tables got empty, someone was there cleaning it. Great food! Great service! Great job JERRYS CATFISH HOUSE. keep up the good work!

This the absolute BEST Catfish anywhere in the central MS area hands down! The service was good, but in the end 6 of us in my party sat with empty glasses of iced tea for the last 25 minutes or so and that's we left so much food on the table, we had nothing to wash it down with unfortunately. But I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jerry's, this is one amazing place to get your fried Catfish Fix that's for sure!

It was a gorgeous, sunny day! Decided to join a group of friends at Jerry's Catfish House in Florence, MS. To my dismay, It was the most disappointing customer service we've received in a while. 7 of the 8 orders came out and it took two times of me bringing awareness that my child's order had yet to be received. At the beginning of the visit, beverage orders were brought to the table. For some reason, the waitress handed me a beverage to pass to the person at the VERY opposite end of the table, who was more accessible had she walked to that end. I had to pass beverages, straws, utensils, and styrofoam plates which I had to ask for the last two items. Instead of me being paid to work, I paid full price for a horrible experience. Though I wasn't charged for the child's plate that was NEVER received, my daughter 9yrs old sat there observing I offered her some of my meal everyone else partaking in their meal. I was disheartened when she verbally expressed her disappointment after waiting over 20 minutes, "I've lost my appetite and what a mood killer". Jerry's service isn't cutting the mustard and apologies don't fill the tummy. Waste of my time and gas driving to Florence! Apparently, they're not kid-friendly. Food quality was mediocre. Don't waste "your" time, money nor appetite...

I have always enjoyed Jerry's fish house in Florence Ms. The food was always hot and fresh and delicious. It was one of my favorite places to go eat when I lived in MS. I moved away and came home to MS this year for Christmas and that was my main request to get to eat fish at Jerry's. So I did. I have to say I enjoyed it but it was like something wasn't right as before and the fish wasn't hot. I was very disappointed this time around. That's why the 4 star. Please go back to the way it was before. The service was fantastic. Just make sure to serve Hot Fish as before. Fish is not as good luke warm or cold.

Who doesn't like Jerry's. The first fish we got wasn't fresh out of fryer. Second plate was piping hot. Like their coleslaw, very finely grated. Good tarter sauce.Food: 4/5
