Delicious food, great service and love the ambiance. We ordered the house mixed grill a mix of fish, prawn, chicken, kebab, chicken saag, palak paneer, daal makhani, veggie biryani. Serving size per order is a lot. We had some leftovers to take home. The staff were friendly, accommodating and kind enough to answer our questions regarding preparation of the food. Vegetarian options: Lots of selection for vegetarian options. Parking: Parking can be a bit difficult when the restaurant is busy.
Excellent vegan options! Tried take out Chana masala, and roasted eggplant bhaighan bartha medium hot, and it was very tasty and spicy! The portion size was big and good value. Also comes with some papadums. Vegetarian options: Good vegan options with clearly labeled vegan items. They can also make some of the vegetarian options vegan. Dietary restrictions: Good vegan options with clearly labeled vegan items. They can also make some of the vegetarian options vegan.
Very nice cozy Indian spot. Prices are fair for the portion size and quality. They have higher end basmati rice which is great as most places dont have descent rice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to set us up with a table. The food was good. I really enjoyed the tandoori chicken it was really exceptional. The curries where great I really like the shahi and the Andhra curries. I thought the butter chicken and the Tikka masala could have been better as they are the most popular choices but still they were acceptable. Only complaint is that the food came out bit by bit which was annoying especially when you're a group. I would definitely go back here for the chicken tandoori!
Amazing authentic Indian food made by and served by such wonderful people.Food: 5/5
Food was tasty and service was prompt. I wanted rice on the side so by server recommended choosing the dinner special which included the curry I wanted with Naan and rice. This was a better value so I appreciated her suggestion. Will be returning.Food: 5/5
Banjara on Bloor is what you might expect if you go to a restaurant in Pakistan or India - it doesn't have that home cooked feel to it. As far as I'm concerned that's great! If I wanted a home cooked Desi meal, I'd stay home. They have a great selection of things that I wouldn't make at home - things like goat, lamb, seafood and tandoori; and all of it is really good. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a dish here. Again, if you're expecting a home cooked meal, this isn't it - they often put an interesting twist on classics that's really good fun to try. The service is good, the servers are attentive without hovering. For atmosphere, I don't think you're getting a spectacular dining experience, or even an upscale one, but I really enjoy the outdoor space.
The food was terrible. The lamb beryani lacked flavour and texture. The rice was a bit mushy. Chicken korma curry was also not any better. You can taste the texture of the spices in the sauce, not emulsified well. The flavour wasn’t strong. Semosa was greasy and the stuffing wasn’t well seasoned Overall this place is very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it at all
Amazing service and very fragrant food. We had a butter chicken thalis very good option for someone who has difficulty deciding, because you get a bunch of sides and even a rice pudding dessert and a chicken korma. We ordered a medium spice level but didn't detect any spice, so I would recommend ordering a spicier level if you prefer hotter foods. All in all a great experience!
It's a pretty average restaurant food wise, decent experience if you've never eaten Indian food before but if you have, you'll probably expect more taste! The biryani is pretty decent though!Food: 3/5
We ordered Thalis. Cannot figure out why the pakora is served cold? And the cauliflower was almost raw. The food is tasty but we took some home to heat it up and finish cooking the cauliflowerFood: 4/5
