Im writing this for different purpose. The outside wall of this place are great for photo shooting. The graffiti walls around this area could work perfectly for a full day of photography. Just about 1 min walk away from this place there is a bridge that has more graffiti. At the bridge near this store, on a sunny day you could take some beautiful pictures with some models. There is trail park that passes over Dufferine St. that makes the bridge. There are 2 tunnels under the bridge that also are great place for photography.
Bought a 19" coda sport for a gift on line last week for a good price to pick up this week. Emailed them start of this week to confirm bike would be ready. Was told exactly.."No problem having the bike ready for Thursday. Its in the building now" The person picking up bike for me stopped by store the next day and was told we don't have the bike anymore even though it was confirmed there. then I get an email...sorry we no longer have your bike but have the 21". I called they didn't think it warranted calling me, just sent oops email and was told by sales person "someone lied to me" about the bike being there....in desperation I paid way more for a bike to fulfill the present I needed which worked out great for them. I'm certain they had the bike but figured they could or did sell for more money. I'm sure they will respond that their inventory was wrong....what bike shop would not do inventory over the winter.....They guy who picked up our bike recommended them and he thinks they are lying too. Right after I checked the coda non-sport pricing and it went up $45 right after How can you trust a company that deals like this? The feeling of getting duped hasn't left since i picked up the more expensive bike. Reluctantly, I'm still giving the store an opportunity to make good and I emailed an offer for 2 more bikes that my wife and I would like to purchase. If they help I will amend my review, if you don't see an update you'll know what they decided...... .
If only Google let people give zero stars... How this place runs I don’t understand. I was looking for a specific bike they were showing to have in stock according to their online inventory there were three in my specific size as of this morning. I had tried calling over the last two days a good 30+ times and had never been able to speak to anyone. I decided to press my luck and make my way down from an hour away as the $500+ in savings almost seemed too good to be true and hard to pass and figured that maybe they’re just very busy. When I show up it’s very clear that what they have in stock is NOWHERE NEAR the amount of bikes their online inventory shows. There were only two guys working that seemed to be overworked and one of them was borderline going postal and clearly hated his job. Extremely rude and unprofessional. After physically checking every single box they had in the warehouse in the hope of finding the bike I was looking for I was told they only have the upgraded model which was “a couple hundred more”... I’m thinking whatever a couple hundred for something with better components, I’ll just deal with it. Ohhhhhh but a couple hundred actually turned to a LOT more... It started with “the online price is not the real price because those are WINTER prices” seriously?... it’s 10% more than what the price is on the site... also $80 for assembly. But don’t worry... they’ll knock the taxes off if you pay cash... all of a sudden “a couple hundred more” actually turned out to be a bike that was $600 more out the door than the one I was hoping to buy from them... not only that but the awesome deal all of a sudden turned into a very lukewarm one... this awesome deal all of a sudden was not a deal at all. I could have a Trek, Giant, Kona, or Specialized Road bike with similar components, proper service and a much better experience for $150 more at most compared to these clowns... Do yourself a favour and stay away. They did say that they were closing down for good and this was a firesale so hopefully people don’t fall for their tricks for much longer... should have definitely believed all the recent reviews I read lately...
The other reviews cover the "Richard" experience quite well. He gets you in with a son story about going out of business, then jacks up the price by $100 telling you the website has Winter prices. Richard is straight up rude and I felt insulted during the whole buying process. I've regretted supporting RB in the year+ I've owned my bike. Nice bike, terrible business owner. These bikes are always "on sale", like treadmills at Canadian Tire.
AVOID!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND OVERPRICED. The rude owner, Richard does not know anything about bikes. Bought a MTB there for my daughter and he sold me a road bike kick stand that obviously did not fit for twice the MSRP. Also, the bike was supposed to get 2 free tune up's but they spent less than 5 minutes checking the bike. They did not even bother cleaning and lube the chain!!! They will NEVER get my business again. AVOID THIS SO-CALLED BIKE SHOP AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!
Great prices for low end mountain bikes, compared to everyone else. Service was awesome, thanks to Mike and Steve. Overall, a world class biking shop with, unfortunately only one brand "Jamis", but at least it's a solid brand with a huge price range. Not like the other bike shops in Toronto.
This is a fantastic bike store. The prices are excellent for the bicycles on offer: much lower than other places in the city, and Jamis bikes are very good quality. As well, the service was superb! I got a lot of individual attention from Rob, Von, and especially the owner, Richard, who all made great recommendations for my needs. I will come back here every time I need another bike for my family or myself.
A few years ago I bought a Jamis road bike from them. I specifically asked for a medium size which they didn't have in stock. They said they will order it in and it will take a couple of days. I paid the deposit and came the day to pick up the bike and they sold me the larger size bike that was in stock. The salesperson acted as if he was doing me a favor. What a joke. I got my refund but never do business with RB bike again. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. You will have a better peace of mind.
Probably some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I contacted staff and followed up several times over a period of almost three weeks about a product after purchasing a bike several weeks earlier. The prices for bikes are reasonable, but I would rather pay extra at a different store if it meant speaking with a respectful salesperson.
Very poor customer service. Reserved a bike a week early showed up and the bike wasn’t there. I was told by the manager that the Sales employees actually have no idea what their talking about so I would not trust what they say. Then I was about to buy a more expensive bike That the manager suggested to me so I stepped out to think and he sold it the second I stepped out. Ended up getting a bike because I really needed one but if I could have I would have taken my business elsewhere. Oh but the bikes are cheap..
