Island Canine Care is a one stop, conveniently located dog care business in the Cowichan Valley, offering grooming, daycare, training and overnight accomodation in a clean, caring, fun atmosphere on 7 beautiful country acres.

At Island Canine Care we want to help you bring out the best in your best friend. Whether you want your dog to look and feel its best, behave it's best, be a well socialized best friend, or just simply have the best care in a safe environment, we're here for you.

Being pet parents ourselves we know the family bond we have with our pets. We take responsibility in providing great care for your dog during their visits at Island Canine Care.

We bring our sometimes reactive dog here for daycare and boarding and he has the best time and mingles well. Shane and his crew keep a watchful eye and manage all the dogs and their energies well as they run, play and swim. It’s a big beautiful property with plenty of space for the dogs to spread out and even has a covered area with large fire pit where the dogs can cozy on cold dreary days. When we have to travel without our dog it makes it worry free knowing he’s in good competent hands and having fun in the fresh air all day. It helps that the rates are super reasonable as well. Can’t recommend enough.
Karen is such an amazing groomer, trained & experienced in grooming all breed standards. Shane has such a way with the dogs in day care! So many things for the dogs to do! All getting along, hanging out or playing together.
Lots of space to play and run around. Working areas are clean, staff are very informative, friendly and approachable. Most importantly the dog felt totally at home in approach and welcome. Grooming experience was fantastic! Luke looked great and smelt wonderful.
Knowledgeable and confident with dogs. A very large facility where the dogs can roam about inside a fully fenced yard. The dogs all get along nicely and the owner is very good with them. Super selection of natural dog treats on hand by a local company as well.
My rescue has been going for a while now. Not only does she get socialized and tired, but they work on behavior as well. Shes a better dog for going there! Can't recommend enough!
Daisy loves going here! Shane is super accommodating and the space the dogs have is amazing! We are confident that Daisy is treated well and enjoys being there !
The Absolute Greatest Place on the Island to bring your dogs, not to mention the Biggest Green Space on the Island as well. Get your Dog structure training while at Daycare for no extra cost is Amazing!
They took amazing care of my coonhound Cheeko over the long weekend. You can tell they truly love the dogs. A lot of great play space for them to run around.
