The best island food we have had in a long time. Jerk Pork, Rice and Peas, Curried Goat, Coleslaw all authentic and delicious!! Dark Rum cake is soo good too! You will not be disappointed in the home cooked food here. Lovely people. We will be back thank you kindly
The BEST Caribbean food in the area! I preordered my meal and when I walked in, my food was ready to go - NO WAIT TIME at all like some other reviews suggest. The lady working at the front was kind and friendly, from our interaction alone I could tell the food was gonna be good. And it exceeded my expectations! For what you pay, you get A LOT of food. I’ll have some nice leftovers for tomorrow lol The Curry Chicken was tasty, the chicken was cooked perfectly and there was enough gravy to cover the rice and peas. There wasn't a dry bite in this meal! The coleslaw wasn't anything spectacular, just regular coleslaw, except it was a bigger portion than most restaurants! The festival was also cooked well; it was soft, warm and subtly sweet. It went very well with the rich oxtail gravy on the side. I'd highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in the area, I only wish I'd tried it out sooner. Never change!
Authentic Jamaican Restaurant in Newmarket! The best I’ve had in Newmarket thus far! The Fried chicken is made upon ordering which is the best! I’ve also had their curry shrimp which is also made to order! Highly recommend you try them out! Browns R Us on Youtube
It didn’t taste bad, but it was one of the worst Caribbean style dishes that I’ve ever had. I guess my standards are so high after visiting the Caribbean and living in Toronto for so many years. I got oxtail, and it was rather bland and the gravy on it tasted like instant gravy that I would buy at the supermarket for Thanksgiving. I think the only reason it’s rated so high is because it’s one of the only Caribbean places in Newmarket.
We ordered here twice and both times the food was tasteful & satisfying! Portion size was just right & the seasoning for the dishes were right on! Don’t be surprised if you want to take a nap after eating. Highly recommended their pepper shrimp, curry goat & oxtail roti!
I moved to Newmarket area couple of years ago and have been looking for a tasty and authentic Caribbean restaurant. I think I found it! Everything here is tasty, I’ve tried jerk chicken, jerk pork, curry goat, ox tail, etc… you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for deep rich Caribbean flavour!
This place is a Jamaican Gem that surprisingly located in heart of Newmarket @York Region area. The food is served hot, well-balanced, fresh ingredients and great portions. Prices are very good for such a quality, tasty and authentically spicy Caribbean style food. Loved it from A-Z.
First time trying the food at this joint. My wife and I are huge fan of Jamaican food. We ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail with rice and coleslaw. Both dishes were excellent. There's a nice subtle sweetness. I would definitely like to go hotter with the jerk chicken the next time around..
Had Jerk Chicken Dinner, is incredible! Portion is large, flavour is on point, proper coleslaw. Best value for the price so far in Newmarket.
10/10 Best Caribbean food you can get. It is very flavorful and satisfying, great portion sizes. I would have posted a picture but it ended up in my stomach quite quickly. The owner and ladies working are friendly and has excellent customer service. I recommend the oxtail, curry goat and fried chicken.
