I don’t usually give 5 stars but The food was delicious and the owner is such a humble and likable person! I’ve been there with my friends and it was their first time trying west African Ivorian food, they loved it. One of them was vegetarian and she didn’t felt left out because the restaurant had tasty veg options. We had an amazing time and felt welcomed. ::so thoughtful of them to have a student menu too thanks for that I advise you to check their instagram page too to see more updates about the restaurant. Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian meals like the peanut butter sauce
Finally! Toronto was really missing a respectable west African restaurant! The food was great, and the portions big and worth the price. It really has the taste of west Africa, brought me straight back to childhood. The atmosphere in the place is really cheerful, and the owner’s story warm to the heart. I will definitely return soon. Edit: I went back 4 times in the last month …. The food is so good!
Spotted this new restaurant pop up in the area on Google Maps and was pretty excited to try it out. It did not disappoint. You’re greeted with very friendly service, who are eager to make recommendations on what to try from the menu. We ordered plantain waffles topped with avocados and onions, grilled chicken with fried plaintains, sea bass and a variety of yogurts for dessert. Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try out the rest of the menu.
Amazing food! Braised chicken perfectly seasoned. Alloco and attieke amazing Special mention for the seasoned rice we will come back just for that one! We also tried the two appetizers: “waff-alloco” and pastels. The only regret I had was I didn’t have unlimited funds to truly indulge on them Tiny little dent: I run super hot all the time, so I was sweating a lot, maybe a more robust A/C during summer months? Other than that, I pray this restaurant lasts a long time, the 6ix was missing an African hot spot: Ivory Coast delivered
Delicious West African cuisine with big portions! The owner took the time to ask us how we enjoyed our meal which was a nice touch. A gem of a restaurant in Midtown Toronto. We will certainly be back!
The word to describe my experience “Amazing” I’ll start with the service : I respect when the owner and staff of a restaurant all come together to give their guests the best experience possible! Respectful, kind and welcoming. Beyond the food I genuinely value excellent service and got one at Instant du Palais! The food was delicious. Rich flavors for the delight of my taste buds! I got the grilled tilapia, juicy and flavorful topped with a tomato-oignon based sauce, with 2 sides - attieke and fried plantains alloco. My cocktail of choice: Cherry paradise for those who enjoy sweet rich cocktails like me, perfect! Lastly the atmosphere was pleasant, it’s different from the quiet places. Instant du palais has its own ambiance, African music in the background, party relaxed vibe I would say. Overall, I would recommend to anyone!
The owner is nice and welcoming. Great food and good portion. One of the rare West African restaurant in Toronto. Went there twice and I will definitely come backFood: 5/5
Probably the best west african restaurant in Toronto so far. This restaurant is delicious. It serves authentic food from Ivory Coast. The food is great and the staff is very friendly as well. The grilled chicken and fish are awesome and the fried plantain are probably the best ones I had in Toronto so far.Food: 5/5
Our first time trying West African food was a wonderful experience thanks to Fabiola, the owner. She gave a fantastic welcome into a beautifully decorated homey space and she even offered to piece together a sampling of the menu, outside of the set menu, which we so appreciated as we wanted to try everything from all the great reviews!! We loved everything, including the bissap juice, and the plantain waffle, chicken, peanut rice, seasoned rice, goat, and fish. Thank you Fabiola!! We hope to see you again soon!!
What a wonderfully delicious experience! The server was friendly and super helpful since it was our first time trying Ivorian food. We loved everything! The plantain waffles waff-alloco blew my mind - they are an absolute must try! We also loved the peanut stew West explosion and the thiebou yapp. The hibiscus mocktail was refreshing too. We thought it was a nice touch for the chef and owner to come out to talk to us at the end of our meal. She told us that every dish is homemade and that 80% of the ingredients are from her country of C'ôte d'Ivoire. We're thrilled to support her and her business. This is such a welcome addition to our neighbourhood. We can't wait to come back to try more dishes!
