Lovely stay at Inn on Putney Road. It's a old but well kept up building with very comfortable beds, well appointed rooms. By well appointed they have thought of everything: coffee, snacks, water, tea, even little details like feminine hygiene products. The common space is cozy with a fire, and coffee/tea/cookies all day. HOWEVER, the staff are just delightful and go above and beyond. Both Marie and Shana are so helpful, DELICIOUS cooks, and go out of their way to make the stay special.
My wife and I stayed here for a single night in the winter. The room temperature was jacked all the way up making it nearly impossible to sleep. Despite setting the thermostat to 60 the room simply would not cool down. I am fairly certain our nieghbors had the same issue as well due to the amount of noise they generated. It sounded like they were assembling some for of medieval tourture device over there but I think they were just trying to open an ancient window. This is by far the loudest most uncomfortable room I have stayed at in B&B, and for the price that is not what you want to hear. We never met the hosts which was disappointing since I had questions about the property. The only staff we met was the single person who served breakfast, she was friendly and attentive and breakfast was good. Sadly the two hours of sleep we got here pretty much destroyed our energy for our weekend getaway.
Stayed a few nights and loved the staff, food, location and our room in the Carriage house was cozy. Highly recommend hanging out in the living room of the main house with a bottle of wine, a book and some snacks! Hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor spaces and stay in the garden view room.
From the moment you walk into that old house you feel it's a dream. All the rooms in the house are filled with interesting items to capture your attention. Even though the house is almost 100 years old, it is clean from top to bottom and in perfect condition. Everything a vacation get-away should be. That's how we felt at the Inn on Putney road. We like to hike and swim so it was a pleasant surprise to find a trail at the back of the yard that meandered through the woods and down to the water. On a beautiful summer evening we found our way to the water for sunset and took a dip. The breakfast was awesome. You should try this house.
We had a wonderful experience at the Inn on Putney Road. Paul is everything a B&B host should be: Kind, professional, a great communicator, considerate, and on top of all of that, he is a great cook! He also made sure that any dietary restrictions were considered, which we highly appreciated, and we enjoyed gourmet style breakfast every day of our stay. There is definitely a personal touch and style that made our stay very special. We highly recommend!
