Had dinner here before going to see Wicked. You can tell it's a family run restaurant as you definitely pick up that vibe. The food was amazing, and very reasonably priced. Service was very good. I would say be warned as the drinks menu is slightly limited no pink gin for example, and only 2 wines that you can buy just a glass of. However, thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses and all were good portion sizes. Our only thing that would've made the experience a bit more pleasant would be to have a bit more time in between courses, almost as soon as we finished our starter they took the plate away and the main was on it's way. Would've been nice to have a little bit of time to let the food go down a bit. However, I appreciate they've got to get people in and out since they get a lot of customers who attend shows. Would definitely recommend here.
I love Italian food and was not disappointed by Il Posto. Looks very unassuming from the front but a good sized restaurant inside. The food was excellent. Great antipasti and the main was delicious. Good wine, reasonably priced and really good coffee to finish the evening.Highly recommendedFood: 5/5
14 of us enjoyed our Christmas Day out in London yesterday and we ate at lunchtime at Il Posto. Absolutely wonderful Italian food served here, the staff are kind, friendly and attentive. We loved it, and would highly recommend eating here. Perfect.
My friends and I went to Il Posto for a dinner after matinee afternoon show around 6PM. We didn’t make a reservation before, so we have to wait a bit before being seated. The restaurant is located opposite of Apollo Victoria Theatre Wicked and near Victoria Palace Theatre Hamilton, so I feel like many customers are the playgoers. So it’s best to make reservation if you want to eat here before the show. The foods are good, but our favourite ones are the desserts, especially tiramisu. The price is reasonable since the dish is huge. The staff is friendly, the place & toilet are clean. The restaurant and staff gave us homey vibe.
Minestrone, beef medallions and Amaretto coffee. Minestrone was tasty, lots of veg. Beef medallions were ok Amaretto coffee very very sweet masked the Amaretto Staff very friendly. Turned up, they thought we were 2 but booked for 3. Sorted out very quickly. Reasonably priced wine, aperitifs, water beer for £145. Good for Central London.
Il Posto is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Sitting down to enjoy a meal here is an event, we spent nearly 3 hours at the restaurant but not because the service was slow, because we spent the time enjoying ourselves. From the minute we walked in, Carlos, our lovely waiter, was chatting with us like we were family, asking us questions about ourselves and cracking jokes. The service was so attentive and we were checked on constantly as well as constantly being reminded to just call for him if we needed anything. Our food arrived so fast and the main arrived not long after we finished our starters, allowing us to flow from one course to the other and then we had a chance to view the menu for dessert, espresso, and digestifs. All of the food was amazing and the portion sizes are huge but even when you eat so much it doesn’t feel heavy. The espresso was amazing as well, along with all of the wine. The simplicity of asking for a glass of white wine and knowing you’ll get a good glass without having to choose from a list is a benefit in my opinion but there’s an extensive list of bottles and half bottles to choose from.
Authentic and delightfully tasty Italian food with a legit Italian experience. We were recently in Venice and this food surpassed almost everything we ate there. The tiramusu was the best we have ever had. Would 100% recommend this place!
Brilliant warm friendly service with passion! So enjoyed the food and atmosphere before Hamilton. Prompt service, great menu and pretty good value for London. Highly recommended. Nice touch with birthday song for my 21year old daughter!! Thank you Il Posto
If you want unpretentious Italian, ask for Salvatore. The food is good, cooked with heart and skill. Nothing is overwhelming nor underwhelming so just Al dente if you may. Popular with the theatre crowd, it's proximity to the Victoria station and evidently they have been here some time to make sure that the tables are continuously turning and the food is fresh and tasty. Good experience. Prices are London influenced and a tad bit high but then they are just at the right place to the customer is fulfilled.
A very traditional Italian place in the heart of Victoria. The food was very homely and cooked well. I got the scampi in a tomato sauce and rice, it wasn't to my taste but really good portion size. A lovely spot for an intimate meal.Food: 3/5
