It was just us and another customer so I don't think we can blame whatever this pizza was on how busy they were, can we? What you see on the pictures is a saggy pizza with maybe a descent crust, with some low grade deli chicken squares on top and raw onions and tomatoes that feel were added at the last minute? I didn't know a pizza could taste over cooked and raw at the same time... Furthermore, we weren't asked if we wanted more pop, I guess soda refills are not an option? Last but not least the staff could work a little on presentation, running around in dirty tops/uniforms I mean what's the excuse for that?
First time visit, food was good, service was excellent. Managed to grab a corner table since it was not that crowded. The tomato bisque was very good. Slightly disappointed on the Bruschetta as it seemed to have more onions and a very overpowering taste as compared to the or herbs in it. Also the bread was the same for Bruschetta and flatbread which seemed a little odd. My friend had the meatballs in his shareables and he remarked that the sauce was great. Will have to revisit for an actual pizza or dining experience
We waited about an hour for 2 pizzas and a salad to be served. I would have chalked it up to it being Boxing Day and the restaurant being short staffed, but based on the other reviews it looks like this is the norm. The pizza was decent, leaning towards doughy. Utensils and napkins was provided in a mason jar on the table, but there was only 2 napkins and 2 knives for a table of 4.
The pizza was amazing but the whole edge of my crust was extremely burnt. The service was good and the place was calm and nice until some people and all their screaming kids came in. which isn't the restaurant fault, it's just something I noticed, it was kinda annoying because they seated them right in the middle of the restaurant when there where big tables off to the sides. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian and gluten free options
I was looking for a happy hour venue in the early afternoon, with dozens to choose from. Based on the ultimateVictoria happyhours website, I wanted to try some of their advertised specials. After being seated I asked for a happy hour menu and I was told that they don't do happy hour. I ordered regardless to give the restaurant a try since I was already here. They were a few tables of the 60+ seat venue that were occupied and they only had one server on and an assistant to service the entire restaurant. My sandwich and salad took quite a long time to arrive. While I waited I confirmed on their website that they in fact DO offer happy hour AND daily specials, for the specific location address verified I went to. Upon asking the person delivering the food who turned out to be the GM/owner? about why I wasn't told of or offered any of these menus he replied that he chose not to offer any of these services with no particular reason why. I told him the specific reason I decided to come here today was because of the current information available online and had I had known, I wouldn't have come. I would have rather visited for dinner another day. Also the Negroni I ordered specifically said on the menu "comes with a large cube" and it came with regular cubed ice. I told him that they may want to do something about their false advertising. The sandwich was overloaded with ranch dressing mayonnaise and the Caesar salad had many pieces of lettuce that were past their acceptable serving date. I will not be back.
My mom and I had a wonderful lunch while shopping downtown. I ordered the prosciutto arugula pizza not realizing the prosciutto is not cooked into the pizza. I asked the staff if it was possible to place it back in the oven to crisp the prosciutto, apologizing for my mistake. The manager kindly offered to make a new pizza with the prosciutto cooked on top for no extra charge. They were extremely kind, generous and the pizza was incredible. My mom ordered the tomato bisque with her pizza and raved for most of the day about how good it was. We had a wonderful lunch and very much appreciated the effort to go above and beyond. I would definitely recommend Famoso and will be back again.
A nice quiet restaurant close to downtown Victoria. Good choices on the menu. Good friendly service. I tried their Margarita pizza. It was good.
Famoso's Margherita is the closest to the real thing that I've had in north America. That in itself is worth the five stars, despite some oddities like putting chicken on pizza which I'd put down as concessions to the local taste that are necessary for business. The tiramisù is also worth of the Margherita. The staff are friendly and polite; tables, plates and silverware are clean. The dine-in hours are too limited right now due to staffing issues but hopefully that will go away when the COVID insanity ends.
Nice little patio for a sunny afternoon. The food is very good. We ordered the visuvio amd the prosciutto arugula pizzas and were not disappointed. Highly suggest the lemoncello lemonade also!
I live close by and wanted to grab something to eat before my shift work at the hospital… Chose Famoso and wished I hadn’t… An hour wait for 1 pizza was a ridiculously long time to wait considering there was only 1 other patron. Pizza came and it was horrible… And I’m being kind when I say that. Soggy, under cooked dough that collapsed as soon as you picked up a piece. It was mushy and the sauce extra watery. Very poor service - frustrating in every sense. I won’t be going back. I wasn’t offered another pizza nor a credit on my bill. : Add is the filthy windows, sills and bathrooms - and that’s a wrap for me. I left the pizza and my pop and paid for a meal I didn’t eat nor could I enjoy and made sure the service understood my displeasure of my meal but it didn’t resonate. I ended up walking over to Fiamos and that was the best experience. Save your money and go one block over to FIAMOS, much much better quality. As a health care professional my free time is limited and eating out is a luxury. This ruined the experience 10000% What’s shame, prime location but very unsatisfying and unappealing restaurant.
