"Those who are disrespectful or disruptive will be asked to leave" - says a sign posted on every counter. But what if the person on the other side staff is so? Last time when I visited, the lady who helped was very courteous and helpful, so is the lady who is the supervisor/head. However, today my experience turned around. The lady who took my case was quite rude and angry-ish. This is not what you expect if you are being kind and polite. Any unreasonable response by the staff to the applicant may not only ruin someone's day but could also cause great inconvenience and delay in obtaining basic service rights to the residents. This is quite unjust. Please think twice before reacting. If you do not like to be in a customer facing role or speaking with variety of people, please re-consider or explore other opportunities but please do not take it out on people who visit here. Having said that, some staff here is definitely very helpful and courteous but sadly not all.
I cannot believe it happened in Canada... Came in as a walk-in on October 3, 2022, as I had some emergency and could not wait for 2 weeks for an appointment. As it is a known fact, that you have to come in early to get service, as a walk-in, I came at 6:45 am. I was 4th in line and that gave me hope that whatever I need to get done at ICBC today, will be done. By 8:30 am, there were at least 50 people in the walk-in line. At 8:30 the door of the branch opened and, a woman and a man, who I believe belong to branch management, walked out of the door, informing everybody in the line, that only those who have driver's licence expired, will be serviced. I was shocked with this announcement. Practically, they were refusing to service people based on the expiry date of a driver's licence, in spite of the fact that walk-in hours are available on ICBC site and there was no any notification on site or even branch door about changes. I could not believe it was happening. I came to Canada 20 years ago, and this was one of the reasons I left my motherland. In Canada, people are treated with respect and dignity by those who can make a difference or/and in-power, such as police and government agencies. But, at that moment, I was feeling like I was thrown out like trash...The branch has posted rules, that branch employees need to be treated with dignity and respect, but for some reason, these rules do not go the other way toward branch customers... In disbelief, I still waited to be called to the check-in counter, only to be told that I will not be serviced, because my driver's licence is not expired. My biggest concern is that branch management can easily bend the rules to suit and offset poor scheduling decisions. I guess a more appropriate solution would be to do their best, and service as many as possible within a given time and then, make a proper announcement by posting an updated walk-in policy. But it was definitely easier just to refuse the service without any sound reason, “just because”... It also would be acceptable, if customers, coming early morning, found the note on a branch door, that there won’t be any walk-ins on that day. So, people would just turn around and not wasting few hours for nothing, and not being late for work. But, I guess it takes some thinking in advance, planning and consideration, as note would need to be posted on previous working day. Now, it is scary for me to think that every time I go to ICBC branch, they may refuse to service me and I am sure, with this incident in mind, the reason can be any… Edited: Just read reply from ICBC below... Not sure why they do not pay attention to details... System outage, mentioned in reply happened on October 4, 2022, I was refused service on October 3, 2022. So, unfortunately, the reply from ICBC is irrelevant.
I’m not from this area but I come here to renew my license. If you don’t have appointment better to come as early as you can. Limited spots for no-appointment person. The location is nice and clean, surrounded by great and well known tenants. Not many parking spaces as they shared with other tenants. Most of their parking spots being dedicated for road test only. Good luck!
I went to this branch for my road test and had a great experience. My examiner was sooo nice & very professional and polite. Her name is Jenny. I had very bad experience in Surrey ICBC. But here in Langley I saw whole staff is nice & very professional. I was very nervous on that day but her instructions were very clear and it’s made me comfortable. I would like to thank my examiner Jenny. And I also recommend this location to others.
After a long waiting time to get a road test appointment almost 5months, I finally did my test on this branch and I was truly surprised by the service received. It took less than 5mins to check in, the staff were friendly and respectful and my instructor made me feel very confident and comfortable during the test. Great experience :
The staff are efficient and friendly. I was a bit concerned when I arrived at 8:15 and joined a line of 150 people, yet when the doors opened, I was finished in 45 minutes. The branch is organized and focused on service. A manager lady even came out and answered questions before the doors opened. This simple step solved problems and made everyone feel better!
Emanuel is the best examiner i ever had. He does not make u nervous. He is very clear with his instructions and will not trick u in any way. At the end, he gives really good feedback. I was so nervous before my test, but he made me feel relaxed.
I went in today for my class 7 road test and had Emmanuel as my examiner, he was super friendly, clear with his instructions and treats you like a friend. As well as giving excellent feedback. I was a little nervous at first but his friendly personality definitely helped, and I ended up passing!! Thanks to Emmanuel, I definitely felt comfortable throughout my entire test!
I had my exam class 7 at this location and I was surprised in how the staff was great with me. On the check in I needed to get a license for the day of the test, and instead of making me feel nervous they really calm me down and explained me all the steps. The examiner Keith was super clear all the route of the road test and made me feel confident/comfortable. Really appreciate it.
I passed by Class 5 road test today. I would like to thank this branch of ICBC and in particular Chris who was my examiner and the person who managed my paperwork. He was calm, pleasant, gave me clear instructions and he was fair in his assessment of my driving skills. The only thing that I wanted to point out was that even though my appointment was for 6000 production way and even the reminders said so, it was actually at willowbrook. Had I not checked in person a few days earlier, I’d have never known and that could have been quite the confusion on the day of the test!
