Recently renovated and looks even nicer than before although it was pretty nice before already. The chicken soup with fish maw is a must from this place. The sauce bar includes appy and unlimited dessert, which enhances the experience. A bit more on the pricey side. Servers were friendly and professional.
The broth is really rich and flavorful do include the add-ons. The service is exceptional and the restaurant's interior is pretty. There's two different desserts and they're all you can eat, my favorite is the mango sago the grapefruit bits are a nice touch. I could've done without the chicken, I don't think the chicken adds much to the hot pot experience. Overall I think this place is definitely worth a try but it's a bit spendy and not too different from other hot pot experiences other than the broth.
A unique chicken-stock hotpot with great tasting soup but not much else to set itself apart from the competition. If the review was helpful, please follow and/or like for more! Service: 5/5 Service was spot on at this location. Drinks were refilled promptly and plates replaced regularly. We even had someone drop by a few times to scope out the soup scum. Food: 3/5 We used a groupon meal set for the visit, and it was overall pretty satisfactory. The highlight of the meal was the chicken soup. They boil the soup stock first in a giant pot then dump pieces of chicken meat in. After the soup is ready, they'll place some into your bowl with some elastic innards that I'm not familiar with. The rest of the meal was pretty standard as the chicken soup isn't great for pairing with things such as beef/pork. There's a sauce and side-dish station in the center to get things ranging from kimchi to edamame from. COVID: 4/5 They checked for vaccine passports and IDs. Tables were sufficiently spaced out into booths although restaurant wasn't really packed and servers all wore full PPE's.
Very very very impressive by the chicken broth! You can taste it has lots of nutritional ingredients in the broth. You can taste they put lots of time and efforts so that the broth has such a beautiful richness. As a Cantonese, I love to drink soup. I always make chicken & fish maw soup at home, but I couldn’t never know how to make the soup with such a rich texture! It’s amazing! I could say, this is definitely not just some regular broth for hotpot. It’s the chicken & fish maw soup that other restaurants would easily sell it for over 100$. I couldn’t stop drinking it until half pot of soup was gone! The first half of broth, I only added chicken meat and abalone to keep the original taste of the soup. And then, I started to put in other kind of meat and veggies. All the food was fresh, all the sauce and spices was freshly prepared. Great service. We got all our food on table within 10 mins. Highly recommended!
We have been here for a few times over the years. This is our first time since last March. I like the spaciousness here, very comfortable to dine in. Servers are always attentive and friendly. However this time the soup base was too salty, we didn’t really enjoy it. In addition, it became more pricey with less portion. Tonight I didn’t even feel full, but on average p/p was over $60. I was a bit surprised so I received the bill. Anyway, I think quality has gone down unfortunately. Also seriously the soup base is no longer that tasty and fresh. A bit disappointed.
The chicken was delicious as it should be as the while place is based around it. The rest of it is pretty much your usual hotpot experience. The booth we were sitting at was so narrow I had to step around the table leg one foot at a time to be able to sit especially annoying when part of the experience is getting up to collect dips and fruit. The fruit station was great...except they took forever to refill it and they only provided one option at a time. I was not particularly impressed that the stoves for each table ran on small cans of gas. That’s a lot of waste everyday! Our can had to be replace during the meal.
Broth is really good, rich and creamy. But chicken meat was overly boiled with no chicken like flavour, does not really taste like good free range chicken. Portion is good for two people with one basic chicken hot pot order. Soup can get a bit rich and oily later on. Service is good. Overall a good restaurant to dine. Broth is too rich and oily. Really need some vinegar/lemon to balance it out after the meal.
I love this place. I agree this is not like cheap but prob 30-45 per person should be adequate. Of course you can skyrocket it with soup base. I love the free sauce they have, the chicken soup and the service is great too. The waiter who served us got a bit of boiling hot chicken soup splashed on him and he insist finish serving us before he take care of himself The chicken broth is super thick, we got full by just drinking the soup. It’s good but too oily for me so I had diarrhea the next two days; however, I’d still recommend this to my fam and friends. A gem indeed!
Very popular chicken hot pot restaurant. Their broth was really good. Duck blood tasted tougher it supposed to be. It may be pig blood instead of duck blood. I like Their special source. Perfect match with blood and chicken. Portion is huge. 35CAD for the whole chicken is worthy. However, their chicken is not very tender. For two people, you better find more friends eat together. Everyone there were Chinese. All staffs spoke Mandarin. It's not like Vancouver but like in China. If you think my review is useful, please give me a like.
Worth a try,,, I am usually not a picky eater. Overall, the restaurant is fine, good atmosphere, friendly staffs and food are fine. Each table first choose which kind of chicken soup they want, then order sides for the hot pot later on. The portion for the chicken soup was huge and good enough for 4-5 people. We also tried some of the sides, which one of the was simply delicious, the prawn patty. Just that everyone in Richmond were talking ab how good the chicken soup is here, made me have a very high expectation when coming here. For me the chicken in the chicken soup were not tender enough, and after the meal, I was very thirsty, which I believe what you all would know what we’re being added. Moreover, staffs will recommend you to add on 4cad for the additional sauce and “fruits”, which I personally think not necessary. There are only two types of fruits there and the soup itself is rich enough for the food, no need additional sauce. Anyway, some in my party really loves it, some not, and I would say just give it a try, because is something worth trying. Whether you would come for the second time, all depends on your personal preferences.
