Great experience and will come back here again! 20 dollars for one person was enough with two vegetables, three meats, and one noodle/starch based options. Everything arrived at a very fast pace with the already made noodles tasting very similar to the ones I had in Beijing. The sauce was also very good, although we could only choose from two sauces. The sesame sauce was a bit bland, but I could tell that it was hand blended because of its puffiness. One thing that I might add is that the original hot pot soup is basically just boiled water with dates and onions. There wasn't even salt in the soup so that was a bit disappointing and weird. Otherwise, they only give you a plate and chopsticks. You might have to ask them for spoons and another bowl if you want to cook food while cooling the hot food.
I went here for hotpot on winter solstice with my friends. It’s a perfect weather for it! Everything is really delicious and we really like the lamb, lamb wonton and the clear noodles! Ma la tang is not too spicy. I got the clear broth and is also perfect for lamb. Price is really reasonable. What we got? beef, lamb shoulder, lamb slices, deep fried tofu skin, beef tripes, clear noodles, lamb wonton, Baked sesame cake, Prawn paste, vegetables Soup base: Clear broth Tomato broth Ma la tang With sesame sauce/ seafood soy sauce
I ordered a lunch set with tomato soup and my friend ordered one with original soup. Mine was okay but my friend’s was too bland for him. The price was reasonable and the service was just okay.Recommended dishesLunch Special Hotpot, Lunch Special Combo, Spicy Soup
Expensive $90 for two with tip and tasteless soup. They literally call it "original soup base" but it's water with a few herbal items thrown in. I could have just done this at home. Meat is meh. Really thin slices. I don't understand how folks think this is good. If you have to go, order a soup base other than the original one. Eating here is a chore. The exhaust doesn't work well and the fuel source for the soup produces toxic fumes. Everything was so bland.
Good decor, clean, and fresh ingredients. The staff were attentive and quick to help. I did not like being able to smell the alcohol from the individual burners though.
Quality of meat is pretty good. But price is a bit high for other items. The soup flavor tried both the chicken and golden soup base is mediocre — probably an ok place to try out once but won’t come back again.
The lunch here is pretty good and would be perfect if their utensils have a lighter detergent taste. Overall this is a great place for a taste of Beijing traditional hotpot with the creamy sesame sauce.
Very good. Quality was perfect. Don't get the canadian lamb though, it's dry. Get the new zealand one. Sucks that sauces aren't customizable like many of the other hotpot places out there but it's everything else makes up for it.
Delicious sauce and very good meat. The service is very fast and the servers are very attentive. Selection of meat is limited but every dish is well prepared . Well worth the price. Will definitely visit often! P.S. I love the design of the place. The owner has good taste.
Overall dinning experience and food quality does not match the price. Very pricy to what they are offering about $50-60 per person. Food portion is really small and not even full after the meal. Broth is pure water with some ingredients, however meat quality is not good enough to make the soup taste better. Overall very tasteless and nothing special about this hotpot. Restaurant’s exhaust fan does not meet the standard. Because after the meal, all of us felt dizzy and uncomfortable. They use chafing fuel to heat hotpot. It is a canned heat that is a fuel made from denatured and jellied alcohol. So we inhaled a lot of toxic gas. And there is no ventilation system/ fan that exhausts the toxic gas. That’s why we felt dizzy and uncomfortable. Meat quality is not that good. We tried New Zealand lamb meat, but it is similar to average meat in other hotpot restaurants. Service is really slow and front server is not welcoming at all. We have waited for more than 50 mins to get a seat. Does not recommend anyone to dine here.
