Hudson's Bay

This Bay looks slightly different from the one at Yorkdale mall. A comparable ghost town in comparison. But when they have their branded clothing on sale, what a bargain. Always worth investing 30 mins looking at their clothes sales if you have the time and are nearby.

No one ever works at the cash registers for clothing, and the ladies at the fragrance counters (who obviously aren't doing anything) refuse to ring you out. Prices are deceiving - a sale will be advertised on a rack but it only applies to half the rack. Selection is mediocre. Change rooms are awful (broken doors, messy, etc) and not private. The store feels deserted, in a post-apocalyptic kind of way.

The selection in the store and the prices are always a great deal. You can usually rely on the quality of products sold here as well as the staff being polite and nice. The real downside here as well as most Hudson's Bay's is they are stuck trying to identify themselves between being a classic, timeless place like Harrods in England and a discount modern place like winners. You have been around since the 1600's you should be focusing on the customer experience and they rest will follow.

Hudson's Bay has a lot of sales events for sure. Recently I tried on shoes but there was no discount available. I went home and booked online and got $20 off. I guess this is the the new normal: You go to the store, you try on the product and then go home to buy online AND get a discount. Hey, nothing like going with the times!
