What would have been a 1 star or less review turned into a 5 star. The king suite we booked was not in good shape. When we brought this to the manager’s attention she Heather Elizabeth went above and beyond to make sure our stay was everything we wanted. She found us even better rooms. Her handling of the situation could not have been better and it really made our stay here absolutely wonderful. Great location, great amenities. Would recommend.
We recently stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is clean and centrally located to restaurants, bars, and shops. Parking is tight & tough to get in and out of the lot with a bigger SUV or Truck. Front desk service was good. However there is never anyone in the restaurant. We only stopped in a few times. Twice to get a drink, and only once was the bartender behind the bar. We decided to have breakfast before leaving & there was no hostess. After 5 minutes the only waitress told us we could seat ourselves but she would not be able to wait on us for about 20 minutes. We left. Definitely a shortage of employees throughout. You don't get anything in the room except 4 kcups to start2 decaf and no water bottles. Our stay was just okay.
The hotel itself is nice, however I am convinced someone was in my room while I was away and the do not disturb sign was on my door. I also heard conversations of other people who had the same suspicions. Next time, there’s going to be a cellular camera set up while I’m away. Besides this, the room was clean and spacious. The neighborhood however is very creepy. Do not walk alone after dark. There’s a lot of weirdo’s walking the streets. I was approached, while standing outside the hotel by on of them, wanting to use my phone….sorry, get a job and lay off the drugs. Also, there was several others walking in the street, definitely with mental illness, yelling and talking to themselves screaming and one individual slammed a McDonald’s cup on the ground right in front of us and just kept talking too himself and kept on walking. Ithaca definitely has a problem here.
I’m flight crew, so I’ve seen a bunch of hotels across the nation. This one stands out for being the oldest, dirtiest one. Everything is great, but the rooms are dated, filthy, and overall madenme feel like I was in the 80s. Staff is great, the lobby is clean too, but the rooms are extremely disappointing. Management needs to consider a massive renovation for this place.
Everyplace can have an off day or a temporary problem. I try not to make things worse by giving bad publicity. I was hoping to make this Hart Hotel chain property a regular spot for me to stay during visits to my son. This is my 2nd visit to this hotel this year as he is an IC freshman. I’ll probably visit 3-4 times per year for the next 3years.nnIt’s close to most things. The rooms are decent size. Basic, but good basic, at a decent price point.nnThis time, the TV didn’t work. I got a” weak or no signal” message. I called the front desk and they said it was due to the weather but only my room was affected.???nnWhen I left to go out for dinner, I stopped at the desk. They said I was given the wrong information. It was a problem throughout the hotel. No apology and no heads up when I checked in. They said they’d send someone my room to check it out. I returned four hours later and there was no change, no progress and no communication.nnI asked at the desk a 3rd time and they told me that there wasn’t anything they could do, that they’d called all three managers and left messages but no response. So no one was working on it and the staff were stuck waiting for instructions. On my way upstairs, the elevator smelled of weed.nnThe TV is a relatively minor problem but based on other reviews, it seems like a symptom of a poorly managed hotel with indifferent or ignorant leadership.nI’ll look for another place.
