Homewood Suites on Bay has nice clean rooms and easy check in and out. I’ve stayed here twice and enjoyed my stay both times. We enjoyed the pool. We were especially impressed with the complementary breakfast staff who kept things clean and running well and continually came out onto the floor to make sure everything was running smoothly and guests were satisfied. The only difficulty we ran into on occasion was the hotel can be a little tricky to drive up to, but is manageable once you figure it out. I will most likely stay here again!
We booked this hotel for our cycling team that participated in the Ride to Conquer Cancer 2024. The location was perfect, as it was less than 4km from the start/finish line at McMaster.nThe hotel was spectacular, extremely clean, and the rooms were very spacious. It was easy to tuck the bike away without it being in the way.nThe bed was very comfortable, had an excellent night sleep. Breakfast was put out early for the riders, as so many were staying at the hotel. Big thanks to the hotel for accommodating us, and having the breakfast out. Highly recommend this hotel.nOur main contact, Darlene for our group was extremely helpful and very communicative. Can't say enough about her assistance to ensure our stay was perfect!
On Saturday June 29th, 2024, my family and I went through the worst experience with Homewood Suites Hamilton, Canada. My daughter went to the women’s restroom facility in their mezzanine level above the lobby and because of poor maintenance she ended up locked in without any option to get out. The unbelievable lack of empathy and response time to help get my child out was nowhere to be found. No manager on duty, maintenance was unsuccessful and only response given was “we do not know what to do as this has never happened before. The lock is stripped and therefore, you must wait until we get a hold of a manager or a lock smith.” My daughter suffers from anxiety, panic attacks and is claustrophobic. I was using my device to try and keep her calm and I asked the front desk staff more than 5 times to please call 911 to reach the fire department or emergency services to help get my daughter out as she couldn’t breathe and was becoming light headed. It’s disappointing that their staff refused to help us and denied us assistance even to call 911 when there was no other option to get my daughter out of their restroom facility. Honestly, this was unacceptable and thank goodness for the fire department for their response and service. I also called their 1-800 guest service center and all they did was give me a case # and said that someone would follow up within 3 days and again nobody has. Truly if you have another option, select the other as this hotel was not up to par.
Spent two nights last weekend.nnPros:n- The room was clean although dated lookingn- Comfortable bed and pillowsn- Wasn’t too busy for a weekend stayn- Access in and out was easy and made getting Ubers simplen- Cineplex and restaurants close byn-Decent enough buffet for breakfastnnCons:n- The hot offerings for the breakfast were barely warm, tough and hard to eatn- The room safe would not work properly even after having staff come in to attempt to fix it. To be fair the staff member admitted he knew nothing about safes and the maintenance guy wasn’t working that day.nnThe Bad:n- We had the fire alarm go off at 9:15am on Saturday morning and were left standing out in the rain for an hour with no communication from staff or management as to where the muster point was, what was going on or what we should do. Not one member of staff took charge of the situation to coordinate everyone inside or outside the building and with that many confused people standing out in the rain on a Saturday morning, it was a pathetic display of lack of leadership. When standing outside I could smell burning plastic as could other guests. When it was safe to re-enter the building the firemen waved us back in and politely said after I asked that it was probably just a false alarm as the system is outdated and needs replacement. Needless to say that night’s sleep had me on edge. We received no apology or reimbursement for the inconvenience which considering we paid to stay there, had made me think Hilton won’t be my first choice the next time I visit the area.
Found the Homewood with the strangest entrance, no real place to pull up to the door, but everything is well done including the underground parking with lots of room. The room was large with a nice sitting area and separate bath. Included breakfast was decent and warm. Comfy beds as always. Road noise from the tin can mufflers was audible on the 4th floor, go higher if that bugs ya.
