Hometown Restaurant

I was pleasantly surprised to find a really good place for breakfast in Fairbanks. It seems every time I go back to a place it is either closed or changed hands. I'm not sure how long Hometown has been open, it looks like a while. It is my first and second visit that I am writing about. I had french toast, bacon and eggs. Everything was delicious. Then I had to come back later with my husband and he ordered an omelette that was cooked very nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. They kept the coffee coming. The coffee was good, too.

Food here is great, try the reindeer sausage and you won’t be disappointed. Same goes for the cinnamon pancakes, it’s pretty much my go to. Service, service, service!!! Service is amazing, even if the food wasn’t amazing the service would make up for it. Highly recommend.

So I came to Hometown because I normally hear good things about. It also happened to be my birthday as well. My friend ordered the western skillet with bacon and I ordered the hot link stuffed hash browns. When the food came out, my friend was missing her bacon and the eggs were soggy. She asked the waitress about it. She said that’s how it normally is. She said she would speak to the manager because my friend didn’t want to pay for that but something else. The waitress came back and she said she didn’t have to pay. All the while I was looking for hot links. She told me I didn’t order hot links. Wait I only eat hot links when I get breakfast!!! We asked to speak to the manager. She came back out and said she was the manager on duty. 😳 Really. Never again. Horrible service. Thanks for ruining my birthday breakfast.

I love how fast the server gets to me when I sit down. Always has coffee and a menu with a glass of water. There's no long wait. Food is good and at a reasonable price.

I am a regular here and am always 100% satisfied!! I have brought a few of my friends and they have loved it so much they always ask me to take them again!!! Owners are fabulous and so are all the staff!!! Always feel comfortable going in there to eat!!!
