Stopped by Himalayan Store at Lawrence & Kennedy and had a great experience. Nice local grocery with lots of Himalayan and South Asian items, fresh spices, and snacks. Staff were friendly and prices felt fair. Definitely coming back.
Went to Himalayan Grocers yesterday for the third time. Had some yummy, spicy gilo chatpate. The customer service was really good too. Not sure what's up with the other reviews, but this place is definitely my go-to from now on. The owner was super sweet and responsive. She even saved me a bunch of money on noodles by suggesting I get a box instead of buying them individually.nnAlso, they’ve got a big variety of Nepali chips and other snacks.
The lady at the counter, whether she is the owner or a staff member, appeared uninterested and somewhat reluctant when answering questions about pricing. I also noticed that several food items, particularly the masala products, were close to their expiry dates. I hope the store can improve customer service and ensure fresher inventory going forward.
I am a loyal customer, but this is the third time my order has been changed without asking me. Instead of the items I ordered, I was sent different products likely the ones that don’t sell. I stayed quiet the first two times, but not anymore.nThis is very poor customer service. If something is out of stock, call or message the customer. Do not replace items without permission.
I just love their yomari. Have been buying yomari every other friday and its soso delicious and authentic. Recommend
