Story

Hickman Automotive Group is a family owned and operated business, established in 1905 by Albert E. Hickman who was born in Grand Bank Newfoundland. The original Company, A. E. Hickman Company, was in the fish business as a supplier, a buyer, and a seller. The Company would buy salt fish from the Fisherman around the Island and transport it in their own vessels to South America, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. In turn, they would bring back coal, salt and other commodities to Newfoundland. Albert E. Hickman had a fascination with the Automobile and started selling cars in 1905 - cars that he would import from New York. In 1923, the Company became the Ford distributor for Newfoundland and continued until 1952 when it changed to the General Motors products. Today, our Automotive Group has expanded to other vehicle franchises and employs over 450 people in Newfoundland and Labrador.

My husband has a Chevy Cruze Premiere, and today we added a Chevy Trailblazer to our yard. I have to give a huge shout out to Mandy, and Roger for all of their help, and professionalism. They both went the extra step to ensure everything went smoothly, and promptly. We have never had an issue with the service we received when bringing the Cruze in for maintenance/checkups. Which also played a huge piece of choosing Chevy again. I took delivery of my vehicle today, even the people I met along the way were a pleasure to deal with.
I just went to Hickman's to get some work done on my 2019 Chevy Cruze. It was making a knocking sound on the driver's size, I thought it was a tie rod sure enough it was but I also need a stabilizer link. They wanted to charge me $532. And it was another 129.95 for a wheel alignment afterwards, so it would have been $700+ went to my normal garage and they could do both tie rods, both linkages and the wheel alignment for $542. Explain to me how that makes sense. And then, when I'm done paying the diagnostic fee $109, they had to nerve to appraise my car, and offer 14750 for it.... Will never recommend and will never be going back. I love Chevys but the service and prices at Hickman's is just trash.
These guys have been excellent to deal with. From A-Z they made the process seemingly stress free. Every concern was dealt with professionally. Great job to Courtney and Denis. Top notch
Love my Silverado, but what I never expected, given a history of bad service in this city with other dealers, was how awesome Hickman's service department is. Hickman's really get that after-sale service is part of the product and they always exceed my expectations. Roger is usually my service advisor, and he's awesome to deal with. These guys should put on a clinic for how service should be carried out. Great job!
Highly recommend. Just purchased my first brand new vehicle from Hickman Chevrolet from Bobby Squires. He could tell I was nervous as this is my first time buying a vehicle and took the time to walk me through everything and made sure I understood everything going on and I was comfortable with my new vehicle. Couldn’t ask for better customer service. As well as Leah in the financial department was extremely nice and great to work with. Couldn’t have had a better first time buying experience, very happy with my new 2021 Trailblazer!
I usually don't write up reviews and to be upfront, I do not like dealing with car dealerships, but I will make an exception in this case. My son and I went in to Hickman's just to browse around and did have a few questions about the Cadillac XT-4. The receptionist put me in touch with Bobby Squires, he took the time to answer all our questions and what I liked was his attitude and no pressure approach. We did go back the next day for a test drive and ended up buying a new vehicle from Bobby and once again he went over every feature of the vehicle and has kept in contact after the sale. Excellent professionalism and a pleasure to deal with! Also on the financial side Melissa Styles gave us exceptional service...giving us all the information and letting us decide what options to go with, they are a great team! A definite recommend!
Waste of time and made my credit worse. They bought my info off Autocreditdeals the took advantage of my disability and just tried to push the Lon through all the same conventional banks adding a ton of inquiries on my credit I did not authorize. Total Scam don’t trust their credit rebuilding program Etc they ar hoping just to get lucky and make money. Strongly advise if you are in a a similar situation try Canada Drives!
I got the most amazing service from Diyar, he showed up at my job with a vehicle for me to look at, on top of that he made sure I was well taken care of every minute I was in the location. I'm a Store Manager and that's the type of employees I look for, congrats to Hickman's for finding a salesman's that go above his job to please a client. Thanks Kenny
If you are in the market for a new vehicle and you want friendly knowledgeable and hassle free customer service, then Hickman Motors is the place to go. We just recently bought a vehicle from there and we dealt with Steve Roberts as our sales consultant. We had many questions for him and he was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful in helping us choose our vehicle. From then we met with the financial advisor Roger Crane who kept our budget in mind and to seek the best finance options available. Very professional and kept us updated all throughout the process. And lastly we had the pleasure of meeting with Rick Reid the sales floor manager who made sure we were very comfortable with our purchase, and addressed all of our needs. Overall we had one of the best experiences dealing with Hickman Motors and we would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!
Was told I had to wait in the porch because I don't have a vax pass. 3 cars in 12 years. After my warranty is up, you get no more business from me.
