We had a great time at Hang Bar thanks to our excellent server, Cass! The food was very good, better than it seemed in the reviews I saw on Google. I recommend the ribs. The wings were good but a little too sweet for me. The fried rolls were good too. And the coconut flan was really delicate and not overly sweet. The prices are honestly acceptable seeing what restaurants are charging these days. There was a DJ and the music was great. The sound system made a difference since the speakers were hanging from the ceiling not behind your head. The vibe was good. People were enjoying their food, the music, and the cocktails. I didn't try their cocktails but they had a few special ones on the menu. Next time!
I recently went to Hang Bar, a Vietnamese restaurant, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The first thing that struck me was the charming aesthetic of the place, it's beautifully designed and visually pleasing. The service was also on point, with attentive staff. However, I did encounter a significant downside during my visit – the loud music. It was so deafening that I couldn't even hold a conversation with my friend. While the music itself was enjoyable, I felt it was a bit overbearing, especially given that it was 10 pm, and I presume they wanted to create a lively ambiance. Moving on to the food, I had a bit of a hit-and-miss experience. We ordered the ribs hai hau, which had a generous portion for $19, but it felt like it needed something on the side to make it a complete meal. The banh mi fois gras was a disappointment; it was exceptionally small, not even 6 inches, and priced at $22, which felt overpriced for what you got. On the bright side, the Da Nang fried wings were delicious, but they proved to be a challenge to eat gracefully in a setting that seemed more suited for fine dining. Where Hang Bar did shine was in their cocktails. The cocktails were top-notch, and if I were to return, it would likely be for the drinks. In summary, Hang Bar is a cute spot with a great aesthetic, good service, and fantastic cocktails. However, the loud music, mixed food quality, and pricing for some dishes make me hesitate to return for a full dining experience. If I were to go back, it would be only for a cocktail outing.
Exquisite restaurants! They took Vietnamese food and combined with genius creativity to create delicious dishes like foie gras banh mi, wagyu and bone marrow pho, big mac rolls and ribs must that actually taste amazing! Mind blown. Cocktails are outstanding with attentive service. Well done!Food: 5/5
Went for dinner on Saturday night. This resto-bar has a great vibe. There was a DJ. Food was quite good, but it really depends on the dishes. I recommend: the filet mignon salad for your information, the beef is raw, the spicy tofu, the scallops, the fried wings. I don’t recommend: the salmon tartare because it was too sweet, the BB Mac rolls because it lacked spices, and the coconut flan because it was too sweet and more like a panna cotta. Service was great. Our waitress Sofia was very friendly. In all, a great place to celebrate a birthday.
This dinery is the true definition of S Class. The style and substance are there. The bartenders are stunning, but they know how to mix their drinks. By far the best cosmo I've tasted. The deco is gorgeous, but the food is even more succulent. I had to control myself from picking up my bowl and licking every ounce of that broth.Food: 5/5
Haute Vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist in a beautifully designed setting. Loved the pho wagyu and marrow bone sprinkled with gold leaf, as well as the cocktails.Food: 5/5
Great atmosphere, our server was lovely. We were a bit late to our reso and the hostess was kind and honoured it! Food was really good, delicious cocktails, I enjoyed the rainbow salad the most! No problem splitting bills for a table 8!
Let’s start with the food. Extremely mediocre to the point that I would recommend not eating and just getting drinks if that’s an option. The pho was disgusting, absolute waste of money. The rainbow salad tasted good but it’s a tiny portion for the price. The ribs are ok, very salty on the outside but the interiors lacks taste. The best thing I ordered was the pandan cocktail, it’s very sweet if you like that. The vibes are also not the best, lots of old people there….my friends and I will never go back. The waiter was nice, asked for our opinions for many dishes as they are still kinda new.
A first Vietnamese bar bistro elevated creative cuisine in the Montreal scene. The phở wagyu truffle, bánh mì foie gras, pommelo salad, scallops we had - following our waitress recommendation - were all "surprising" and good. We also enjoyed the colorful fragrant tasty cocktails with a Vietnamese twist. Bravo et Bonne Continuation.
