Hôtel St-Bernard

This hotel is being used by the border officials alongside the trailers nextdoor to house those crossing the border seeking refuge and asylum. Although some reviews here are cynical and a bit rude, this is informative: Those who cross at Roxham Road, cross here at Blackpool, or the other smaller locations are all shuttled here after crossing in order to claim asylum or refugee status. The border officials can take a few hours to a few days to determine if a claim is valid. If it is, a PCR test is taken. If negative, there is a shuttle which takes individuals to Montreal to various locations. If the claim is denied, individuals are turned back to the states. If they're turned back because they crossed at Blackpool/Champlain then they typically just hop in a taxi and go to Roxham Road and try again. The hotel is used for housing people while waiting for PCR results. There is a restaurant beside it which has food and they also sometimes take people to the Tim Hortons just 5min away. This hotel is nice, clean, and has wifi. Overall, a nice hotel if you are in need of staying whilst dealing with immigration. It may one day return to a regular hotel.. but who knows.

Went here for the restaurant and was very impressed by the food quality and service. Burger and fries were some of the best I've ever had. Heard they've changed chefs since then. Hopefully just as good next time!

It's a great hotel with lovely and kind staff. However, some alarm was left going off in the middle of the night I guess the door? for a while before someone fixed it. Also amazing hotel if you have kids not so great if you want quiet. I was woken up multiple times starting at 5am by kids knocking on the walls, ceiling their floor etc.

I rate this Best Western good overall. To become Excellent I think they need some management change. I had a problem with the desk manager about where to park my vehicle. With better communication skills from this staff member I feel there would have been no conflict. After all, who needs to be hasseled about parking after a long day's drive?...

Hotel and pool were very nice! The restaurant was a disaster - took over an hour to get food and restaurant was not even busy. Wrong food delivered and some people didn't get their meal table of 7 We were told they were out of certain items on the menu only to see other people ordering and receiving those items ribs an hour after we were told they didn't have any. I finally received my meal after everyone else at my table had already finished eating and ate alone as my husband took our kids to bed as they were exhausted Asked for a discount and was told because I ate my food I had to pay full price!!! Very poor customer service! If you stay at this hotel eat at the truck stop across the road - their food and service was awesome!

Great place to grab an amazing tasty burger. Great hotel and dining area. Nice menu and selection of beers. Excellent service and nice manager. This place makes our day after many hours driving. We love it!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Reception was swift and gave me all the necessary info. Free WiFi Great signal . Free coffee - they have this great Van Houtte latte machine ! The rooms are standard but very clean . Staff always friendly and efficient . The restaurant is fantastic. Pub food at its finest. You can't beat the price . It's also a straight shot to Montreal and Plattsburgh NY.

Food was decent. Was only there for dinner and a show. Music was great. One waitress was a total sourpuss disturbingly so but the other three we dealt with were great.

The People who ran this hotel were amazing Celine was amazing and the Manager from the dining room was also. Even though I came with a woman with disabilities they helped her to enjoy her vacation they shared so my love and compassion that I will be back a lot more often
