Located at the border of old port, it's a very modern hotel. Nearest metro station is about a 12-15 min walk. Several restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores around. Rooms and restroom is spacious, clean and modern. Only negative is the bed was uncomfortable and felt like the size of a double bed and not queen, even though they advertise queen beds. It's great for a solo traveller but not couples or more. Gym is decent as well.
Alt Montreal made my first visit to Montreal and Canada an everlasting special experience! The staff was immensely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond helping us navigate the area and providing us with transportation and food information. There's no restaurant, but there's a small convenience area and multiple places to choose from within walking distance, and also attached to the hotel. We were extremely content with the location, as it was within walking distance to Montreal's best spots, no matter which direction you walk. Taxis are commonly available right outside the lobby as well. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The only tiny thing I missed was a shelf in the shower for my own items, but it was ultimately not a huge inconvenience. I will 100% stay at Alt on my next visit to Montreal or any locations they have in Canada. This location in particular made the perfect impression!
This is a cheap hotel pretending to be a nice hotel. Despite being built recently, the rooms felt like anything could break at any given second. And the way the rooms are designed are ridiculous. The glass shower wall is visible from the bedroom area and is not frosted at all, and any noise from the bathroom is clearly audible from the bedroom area, which is awkward enough if you’re with your partner, and infinitely more awkward if you’re with someone else.nnThe room was uncomfortably hot because of the sun beaming through the massive windows in the room that came with only flimsy plastic shutters, and presumably also because the building is cheaply built and poorly insulated. The A/C was no help; it was set at 17 with the fan on blast but the temperature remained at 23 degrees until late at night.nnThe room was also poorly stocked. No extra towels, no extra sheets. The TV only has cable and Chromecast didn’t work. The alarm clock was also broken.nnMy two cents: either go to a nicer hotel for the same price, or save some money by staying at a cheaper hotel since you’ll probably get the same thing if not more!
Not your average corporate hotel. Really clean, spacious room, ideal location. Service was excellent. Don’t want to single anyone out as all staff were fantastic, but Fred and Maude were exceptional. I will certainly return.
Had a fantastic stay at Alt Montreal. The hotel and staff were great and the neighborhood that it is located in is full of great restaurants and is within walking/biking distance of so many of the city's main attractions. Would definitely stay again.
