Came here for dinner with friends and we were honestly blown away by the service! For such a busy place, the servers here were excellent - friendly and attentive. We never felt like we needed to ask for anything. The food was delicious and came quickly. It’s a bit pricey considering it’s all you can eat, but the meat was pretty good quality. Make sure you get the creme brulée at the end! It was surprisingly good! I’d recommend this place if you’re a hearty eater, looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion or if you just want to take down a ton of barbecue.
We went here on a Monday night, it was very busy. We had to wait over an hour for our table, but it was well worth the wait. It was all you can eat for $40. We could chose from different cuts of meat, such as beef, lamb, pork belly, plus seafood options. We had such fun at this Japanese bbq cooking your meal, drinking sake, which made it all interactive. All items were very nicely seasoned. Loved it all.
Worth trying. A cult classic for those who love BBQ, this is one of few that offer quality meat in a buffet setting. With high prices and a rushed feeling for eating 90min last call, it's let down by its own success. The short rib and beef tongue are great options here, especially the garlic marinades. Salmon is definitely worth trying. But multiple rounds of short rib for sure. $60+pp
I'm glad for this downtown location to open. It's such a great place to meet up with friends after a long day at work. There could be a bit of a wait, but there are so many things to do along Dundas and Nathan Phillips Square, so it's not bad. It's not my first time having Gyubee, and this location has the same quality of delicious bbq as I expected. I was especially impressed at the staffs' attentive service. They change the grills at the right time, friendly, and was efficient in delivering food and taking orders. Despite lots of people, they do not rush you. Fantastic feast for a group of hungry friends!
Super delicious food, super fast service. I mean, we ordered the first round, and it was on our table in the next 5 minutes. The clearing and attention on the table were efficient and proactive. The only suggestion for management or ownership is having a tab or something through which people can order, and it goes to the kitchen directly. It'll save a lot of server's time as well as customer's time, just like Sakana House has that.
Very busy location, so make sure you queue up early on the day you're arriving! Staff are very efficient at cleanup and set-up, and are well trained. Food is great, meats are high quality, well marinated and veggies are fresh. I usually get the dinner menu, but lunch menu is better value though less selection. I like to get a bibimbap, try all the beef/pork, and make lettuce wraps. A great place to grill ayce food with friends and share some drinks
We left with great impression. Here you pay once and order food as much as you can eat within 1.30 hours Of course, we ate too much in 30 minutes. We'll come again, it's a very interesting place, I really liked it
Busy as always! Definitely make a reservation reservations only for groups of 6+ if you can. But worth the wait and price Always satisfied when I eat at Gyubee. The variety and quality of options at dinner are great and delicious. Small discount if you pay cash too!
Excellent quality food and service. The AYCE lunch menu is good value for money and tastes great. The service staff are exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful. Note: There's also a $2 discount I assume per head? for paying with cash.
A nice place for the hungry soul. Gyubee is my go-to place if I am very hungry and needs a satisfying meal. I am a meat person and their options are satisfying for me. Their Bibimpap tastes yummy. I always have it with extra rice then some make-your-own spicy sauce. I love spicy food. I always enjoy the time preparing the food, cooking it and eating it while it’s still hot. This is the trick when eating at a samgyupsal / barbeque place, as the food has to be eaten right away once it’s out of the grill. Gyubee has tables to accommodate for small groups and big groups. They only accept reservations for party of six or more, so I recommend calling them for waitlist if you don’t meet that reservation requirement. Lunch and Dinner menus are different, with the later being served with more options salmon, beef, pork. The price differs obviously, but they have recently raised their charges. Being in the downtown core, they don’t have own parking but there are parking areas available within five-minute walk. Staff are friendly and approachable. Kevin, the host, was always friendly. Shike was our main server although Ivy also helped us out once in a while. I have been here with a friend, where we had sake to celebrate my birthday. I also brough some friends visiting from Edmonton. I also had Pride Lunch here with other friends and lately, a few days ago, with my friend who is new in the country as well as his highschool friend. I will keep coming back and recommend this nice place. They have other locations, too, but I cannot assure the same food options. @thepinaydreamer I will be coming back and bring friends to this fun dining experience.
