Gwennie's Old Alaska Restaurant

An old Alaskan favorite, there is precious little to dislike about Gwennies. The food is great, there is a lot of it, and you can't beat this place for Alaskan ambiance. I bring every single out of state visitor here and they all love it. I love the breakfasts here too. Best link sausage in Anchorage.

This place is a fun Alaskan restaurant. They have all kinds of cool stuff on the walls and throughout the restaurant to take pics and learn a little about the area. Now the food is good, but not amazing. It's basically all fried food, which is fine because that seems to be the quality of food in Alaska. I will say that the plates are HUGE! I'm talking enough to feed two reasonable adults on one plate. Even the kids meals come out with a ton of fries and food. My 3 kids could have easily split one meal rather than buying them all their own. They got the deep fried mac n cheese which was really good. I will say that their food tastes good if you are up for fried food and lots of it.

This place was great. Even though it seemed fairly packed, we didn’t have to wait at all. There’s a ton of food and big portions. It was definitely delicious and a great choice.

Delicious Alaskan food! Not 5 stars but solid 3 for a 5 star price! Gwennies will be the most memorable Alaskan breakfast you ever have!

Oh man, what a great little find this place is! We'd heard a ton of good things and weren't let down! Saw they had a Monte' Cristo Sandwich and we were not let down! It was Awesome! Wish I had taken pictures, but it didn't last long enough!!! We sat in the bar, which was really cozy... but make sure to walk around and see what all the place has to offer! Alot to take in and tons of stuff to see on the walls! Highly suggest this place! Great service and fond memories!
