A nice playground for youngsters with slides and a few swings. Tennis courts, too. Directly adjacent east side of Dude Chilling Park, just separated by a walkway. Centrally located. Next to Mt. Pleasant school which has a substantial playground area and fields.
The park is super convenient and is such a great spot for a morning dog walk. Usually there are lots of dog owners in the morning so it’s a great time to socialise your pet. In fall the colours are spectacular. Only thing is recently homeless people have been occupying off to the side of the park.
A neighborhood hub, this park is a classic place to enjoy an afternoon with friends, meeting place, enjoy some time getting to know your community garden and people in the area. With local food trucks stopping by, outdoor yoga classes and all kinds of activities this is the park to enjoy yourself with a taste of old Vancouver charm.
Dude Chilling Park is honestly very chill. It’s extremely chilly in the winter, but in the summer it’s chill in a hotter way, lots of tanners. Plenty of chill dudes and girls if you are open minded and the dogs are super chill too. Just a chill spot honestly. They don’t have too much there, some grass and paths but to be real you don’t need much more than that to just hangout or have a picnic or something. I love dogs and there are dogs there all the time, they also have to be on a leash too which can get uncomfortable but you get used to it.
Guelph Park is an ideal place for morning exercise or an evening stroll. An open walkway in the centre of the park connects a tree-lined field and a recreation area with playground and tennis courts. Whether visiting the park to sit on a shaded bench or to play a game of tennis, Guelph is sure to be a pleasant retreat. The site was named Guelph Park on March 13, 1972, after the bounding street which in turn recognized the family name of Queen Victoria.
I like that Guelph Street is pedestrian only between Mount Pleasant Elementary & Guelph Park. There's tennis courts & a playground at both the park & the school giving the kids options to play. School playground has some good climbing apparatus & excellent for grade school obstacle course. The school playground has soft rubber matting on the ground, which I prefer over bark mulch or gravel. Less chance of needles or other things hiding within to worry about with the kids playing. There are trees for shade in the park & lots of grass for picnics, frisbee or throwing a ball. No soccer pitch in the park, but there's a gravel like field at the school for this type of activity.
Nice, large park with the iconic Dude chilling sculpture. Can have a few salty characters who like to congregate and drink beer. Some people also do yoga here on a nice day.
Guelph park is alright I guess, but Dude Chilling Park is much, much better.
Great park to hang out. Has everything for everyone. Just can get a bit busy on the weekend and nicer days.
Great! Laughing kids and a sunny day, hard to give this park a bad rating. There is a play ground, tennis court and some shade expect some pot smell.
