I've loved the biscuits and gravy for years. I entity this place by myself, with a group, with my kids and even great out on the patio for the dogs. The garden patio is green shady and beautiful. Lots of room and tables indoors. A favorite in Cave creekFood: 5/5
Grotto Cafe was an amazing find! The staff was friendly, and the owner Mr. Mike was out of this world! I enjoyed all my entrees and drinks. I highly recommend the chicken salad, any of the fresh salads, and the avocado toast. I didn’t only find a great cafe, I found a little family on vacation. You can’t go wrong by frequenting this gem!
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. Such an inviting and serene oasis any time of the year! The live music on the Sunday we went was outstanding. For my meal, the Cuban sandwich was out of this world. I can't wait to come back and sample the coffee, more food.
Definitely come here for the food & atmosphere. Great choices of casual bites. They do serve beer & Cocktails, as well as coffee & other non-alcoholic beverages. Great outdoor seating. Weekend happy hour pricing after 3pm on select items & live local music!!! Features: None noted
Great breakfast joint with a fun atmosphere. They have limited food options but they are all delicious and a must try! We had the red truck breakfast chorizo burrito and the french toast. Food was absolutely delicious and service was on point!Recommended dishesGrotto French Toast
Quaint, cute cafe, with an excellent patio. Good food served quickly. Not quite your sit down breakfast but not fast food. Cool patio common area as well.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Great place for lunch. Was there with 2 over-80s seniors and it's overwhelming with no paper menus or laminated permanent ones, just the big menu at the order counter and the QR 'touchless Scan Me' code. Neither one of my older friends uses their phone like that... so if they were there on their own it would not have been easy. I had the grilled veggie sandwich which was awesome - but the in-house aioli had spice, which was not indicated anywhere on any menu. I'm not a spicy girl, and yes I could ask ahead if something is spicy..., but it isn't a question I ask every time about every dish :/ imho it should be noted somewhere on the food description... my companions split the fajita tacos and the black beans were noted as very good. *They both have mouth issues which makes eating spicy food extremely painful ~ another reason to inform customers about a spice/heat factor ~ luckily their dish wasn't spicy and had a spicy salsa on the side :. The Grotto is fun, hip and had lots of fun beverage options. We tried a Raspberry Italian Soda that had half-n-half & wiped cream - it was fine. The patio looked great, and the place was busy. A bit of a rant, at all new businesses... but I was sharply aware of it at this place, on this day... Our society has taken "Able-ness" & "Accessibility" so very far since the 80's... which is fantastic! The next step is aging... keeping options for ease-of-use and a slightly slower pace & some training for staff on what issues hearing, sight, new technology that changes from place to place, among other things senior citzens often are managing in order to enjoy social interactions. If we're lucky we'll all be able to still get out and about well into our 80s and beyond... I just hope that some compassion and understanding becomes the norm as the automation progresses and the technology "improves."
Some cafes have great food and some others have great atmosphere. This place has both. We mostly stop by at lunch for our favorite salad or panini sandwich. Also tried their excellent breakfast menu and espresso coffee. Outside seating area was always popular but now it is greatly expanded and became even more popular. Inside seating area can be a little noisy due to friendly chatter but you may also enjoy 70's rock music at the background.
This is a nice quiet place to relax, get a good bite to eat, meet locals, work alone or just hang out with friends. Lots of seating and even an outdoor environment that is worth the stop. I highly recommend this place for anything from coffee to lunch to early dinner. Great staff and Amazing Music!
Good breakfast, awesome patio area. The restaurant didn't smell the best for some reason.
