I was unfortunately very underwhelmed by Grenade. My partner and I recently moved nearby, and were excited to try what looked to be a flourishing, great establishment.nLet's start with the service: Prefaced by saying that it was not very busy at all 4 to 5 other tables. We were taken to a table and left for quite some time. We sat for maybe 10-15 minutes with no water or menu provided.nOnce we did finally order and receive our cocktails, they were... off. I ordered their Tokyo Kin which tasted like a watered down lemonade and you cannot convince me there was even a drop of alcohol in that glass. My partner ordered their espresso martini dupe, which was very underwhelming as well.nOur food was fine, nothing grand. The presentation was lovely, however, $5 for 3 pieces of shrimp was a joke. Small portions, lack of flavor, and extreme prices made for a very unpleasant dining experience.nIf not an already frustrating experience, we then went to find our server so we could pay and finally leave. Upon walking to the bar we saw them eating and lounging on their phones.nThis was a very unpleasant experience and the bill being nearly $90 was laughable for what we received. I would recommend looking into other restaurants in the area unless you are wanting to have a terribly underwhelming experience.
The restaurant has a nice decor and a good size terrace. Unfortunately there was a lot of smoke because of the forest fires so we decided to have a table inside the restaurant. I had the teriyaki poutine, but it was too salty for me. My friends ordered tartar and poke bowls and they enjoyed their dishes. We had very friendly service and I appreciated the attention that the waitress gave us.
A very cozy casual restaurant bar. Cocktails and food are good one thing I have to point out is there vegetables tempura, it was a little bit mediocre, it was just some sweet potato fries with a mixed of vegetables strips. I was more looking forward the vegetables tempura closed to the Japanese cuisine one with big pieces of fried vegetables. And the fried calamari was a little bit chewy.nThe restaurant bar has a nice decoration a mixed of eastern to western style. We did enjoyed the drinks.nThe waitress was very friendly. She had recommended us a few items on the menu.nThis is a good place to hang out with friends with some good beer and cocktails.
We went there for a girls' night on Saturday but we have mixed feelings about our experience.nThe bar is nice with a cool decoration and the music is not loud.nThe staff was very welcoming, friendly and they came multiple times to check on us. Our waitress did a great job.nOn the other hand, the food and drinks were disappointing. We had 4 cocktails, the bao and the ramens. The cocktails were ok 3/5 but we wouldn't come back for them. My friend said the bao was ok but the Ramen was bad 1/5. I lost 25$.nFinally, I don't think we will come back because the food and cocktails were average and pricey but this is just our taste.
Came here for a birthday and was greeted poorly by our waitress who looked annoyed. The food looked good on paper but the porc in the bao was hard and cold, the takoyaki were more like croquettes and the tartare tasted very blend. Though the cocktails were very good and the general atmosphere is very cute with the outside garden terrace.
