I had a beautiful lunch on the terrace with my friend. We tried the ricotta foccacia, parmesan fries and eggplant bucatini. The foccacia was the best I’ve ever had, with olive oil, honey and whipped ricotta, omg!!! I would go every week just for that. The fries were very good. However, the pasta dish was extremely salty. I think the eggplant was the issue, maybe someone dropped the salt, it was a really unpleasant saltiness. We still ate most of it. Our waiter was so sweet, he brought us two cookies to apologize for that dish, so it did not taint the experience at all. The cookies were both 10/10, especially the lemon one, incredible. Anyway, I would go back anytime thanks to the wonderful service, the ambiance and to try the rest of the menu!
We had to wait in a fairly long queue, but it was worth it. The entrees were great; especially the fried olives and the focaccia du jour, both full of flavor. For the main dish, I had the Campanelle al ragù, and it was absolutely delicious. The terrasse added a really nice touch to the experience, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal.
Little update from the next day: my friend actually got incredibly sick from the food, I don’t like throwing the words food poisoning around but she had to call out of work today. So I lowered the review. I felt very icky after eating so I think there was something in the food that made us both feel ill.nnVery cute spot. A few problems we encountered and why it’s rated lower.nOur drinks were super foamy? I had an espresso martini with an inch of foam on it in a long cup too so when I sipped it, all I got was foam. The martini itself was okay too.nSecond issue, the food was incredibly oily, my stomach started to hurt so I stopped eating and my friend has now informed me that her stomach is not doing well either a couple of hours after dinner. For the price, the food and drinks being that bad are a real problem, I will say the focaccia was delicious and would probably take an order to go.nThe ambiance is gorgeous and very aesthetic, I saw a review talking about the music but I found it a good level to have a lively conversation. The staff were incredibly lovely, helpful, and knew when to come and speak to my friend and I. I would probably not come back as there are a lot of other spots to get the same food and drinks, done better.
I simply cannot get enough of this place. I have been at least 5 times and every time the menu is slightly different. Always get a focaccia, and the foccacia of the day special is an excellent touch. The pastas are always incredible, the cacio e pepe is a staple, but others change frequently, and the burrata is always served with seasonal accompaniment. Perfect place for sharing dishes. The pistachio tiramisu is to die for. The servers are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I cannot recommend this place enough!
I went to Bar Bara to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends, and Dominique served our table — he made the night extra special with a super cute surprise! The food, drinks, and vibes were immaculate as always. We felt truly loved and celebrated. Thank you, Dominique, for your kindness, and thank you, Bar Bara, for making my birthday so memorable!
