We absolutely adore this place. The drinks are retro, funky and has the right combination of flavours. We also had the nachos and hotdogs which are also amazing. The price is super affordable. Services were amazing. All in all such a hidden gem.
The service was great. The bar tender made some amazing cocktails for us that blew our minds. Food was hitting, extremely delicious! Vibes upon entry were sick, but some DJ showed up and messed up the vibe with Vanilla Ice type garbage. Backstreet Boys and 94.7 hits fm trash... it killed the vibe for anyone other than 18 year old girls. So if you're not a little girl, you might want to avoid this place. That said, free popcorn, great service, and affordable/amazing food/drink made up for the bad music.
This is a good bar overall. But I’m mostly posting this review to get the owners attention.nnI live nearby and walk by nearly every day.nnI find it disheartening that they have their entire floor to ceiling front window open while the AC is blasting inside. Every time I walk by it, I just feel a massive surge of cold air rushing through that huge open window.nnIt’s so far from efficient, it’s almost illogical considering that can’t not be showing up on the power bill. But most of all, I think it’s very irresponsible to be guzzling that kind of energy to cool the entire bar while also having the entire front wall/window open. I understand the appeal of the four open window stools for customers, but come on. We all share the responsibility of being energy conscious….and now more than ever with data centers destroying our planet fast-forward mode.nnI understand that AC is a non-negotiable in temperatures like this, but that massive window should be shut when it’s on, especially mid day peak temperatures.
I suggested this bar to my friend because it is in her neighborhood, and after seeing the beautiful interior photos in the reviews, I thought it would be a nice place for us to spend Sunday evening together.nnThe cocktails were great, the service was good, and we really liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the behavior of some customers completely ruined the experience.nnDuring Sunday karaoke, my friend went up to sing. As soon as she started, a white man sitting toward the back loudly shouted “loser” at her. Everyone could hear it — other customers and the staff included — yet no one warned him, asked him to stop, or asked him to leave.nnWatching my friend being publicly humiliated like that while everyone simply ignored it was extremely upsetting. I still don’t understand why that kind of behavior was tolerated.nnMy friend is South American and I am Asian. When we were leaving the bar, two white women also made comments toward us referring to “Mexico” and “Chinese.” Sorry, but I am not Chinese. These comments, especially after what had already happened during karaoke, felt very clearly racist and targeted at our ethnic backgrounds.nnMontreal is an incredibly multicultural city, so I have to ask: Is this bar meant to be welcoming to everyone, or only to certain people?nnI have lived in Montreal for more than seven years and have been to many bars, restaurants, and events here, but I have never had an experience like this before. I want to believe that this kind of behavior does not represent Canadians or Montrealers. These particular customers happened to be white, French-speaking Canadians, and their behavior was shameful.nnMy biggest concern, however, is not only that racist customers exist. It is that when something like this happened openly inside the bar, no one from the staff intervened.nnI would genuinely like to know whether management is willing to protect customers from racist or discriminatory behavior. I also strongly suggest putting up a clear notice stating that racism, discrimination, and harassment will not be tolerated, and making sure staff are prepared to intervene when it happens.nnA beautiful bar and good cocktails are not enough if some customers are allowed to make other guests feel humiliated or unwelcome because of their race or ethnicity.
This is a great new bar that opened up in the area and I'm thinking it will be an amazing summer spot. I love the vibe kinda 2000's retro-ish it's hard to explain. But I'd recommend going and the music has been on point every time. The staff is really nice and overall the bar is clean. I can't complain!
