This was the first restaurant we went to and we wish we had not. It was sad that we had to start our trip to Yellowknife with such a bad experience. The restaurant was completely empty as you can see but since we were turned down service at another restaurant this was the closest option to eat. I ordered a breakfast which was decent but with very less hash potatoes, maybe 4 pieces. My partner had ordered a combo with rice and some fried apps which was absolutely terrible. Their shrimp was not even deveined and as soon as we found out she didn't want to eat the rest. The chicken also had too much batter and less meat. There was one employee at the restaurant who didn't seem to care much and didn't bother to check if the food was good or if we were doing okay. Overall a bad experience and would not recommend anyone to visit this place.
The first time I went to gold Range I wasn't sure about it, the outside looks a bit run down. But the service and the food is top notch. We enjoy the chinese food and I also like the grilled cheese with bacon and fries for a simple lunch. Definitely one if the best places to eat in Yk

Decent chinese food Hours are very inconsistent, attempted to order at 7:45 on a Sunday their posted hours say they close at 8:30 was told over the phone that they're closed. This has happened on numerous occasions

Gold Range has always been a favourite of mine for many many years. But, what a great response to this COVID nonsense. Servers wear masks always. Food is still top notch. Love this place for breakfast. Tables are now separated to about 6-8 feet apart and everything is super clean. Well done Gold Range, well done.
Go for the experience. Good food. When we went the breakfast potatoes were tatter tots- a bit different.
We have had the food here twice now since moving into yellowknife. The first time we went for breakfast, the inside of the restaurant is very clean, the workers/owners are lovely people. The food was delish! Just like mom made it. We ordered chinese food last night, first time having Chinese food since moving here and we weren't disappointed. My hubs was very impressed as was I. Probably will be our go to for Chinese food on the occasion when we eat take out also a great breakfast spot for weekend dine and date lol. Overall 5 stars!
Great meal. Lots of food for the price. Everything was cooked exactly to my preference. Coffee and water were kept full. I only had breakfast, but if the same quality goes into the rest of their meals, I'm sure you'll enjoy. I'll definitely go back.
Stopped in to order takeout for 1....had a fresh coffee and order was ready in 20 minutes.
