The Red Apple Restaurant has a wonderful variety of Chinese and Western cuisines. It's located in the core downtown Yellowknife at Franklin Road. The staff is extremely courteous, warm and friendly. The food platter is delicious and the portions are massive compared to any other restaurants. Would highly recommend it if you're craving for some Chinese and Western cuisine in Yellowknife.
Easily the best restaurant in Yellowknife as a tourist. The food is fresh and well seasoned not to mention great and quick service. The restaurant is quite large and houses a lot of food options from traditional western to chinese cuisines. The buffet was unfortunately closed due to covid restrictions but this is still a very good place to dine out with very good prices.
The chicken is so delicious. This dish is strongly recommended by a friend who visited Yellowknife before. And now I totally agree with him. The chicken is as good as the one I tried in Toronto. Just remember to call the restaurant one day in advance to book the chicken. LoL

We got two dishes, broccoli with beef and Kong bao chicken. The beef is so bland I highly suspect it’s not even beef and the chicken is so small I can’t even pick out the pieces.
Sweet and sour, and honey garlic Spare ribs are both awesome, lemon chicken was really good the first time we went but the second time the sauce was a flavorless marmalade. All in all, food comes out fast and tasty with good portions for the prices.
Authentic and delicious Chinese food. We ordered off of their a la carte menu, and not their buffet menu. Both their rice and noodle dishes were extremely well done and portions were very large. Pricing was fair and their staff was all very friendly, helpful, and very accomodating towards our dietary restrictions.
There's a new owner in town. She took over the restaurant a year ago. Our party is from Vancouver and there's alot of great chinese restos from where we are. We were all thoroughly impressed with the dishes we had. We had a very very tasty jer jer chicken pot. The Chinese sausage in there was delicious I had to ask the owner where she got it. She showed us the brand. She was very friendly and hospitable. Lovely little gem. Pls don't hesitate to try. We also had the fish tofu pot, shrimp scrambled eggs and a fried noodle. All were delicious. Exactly what you want after you get off a long commute and in the cold. The mango dessert was delightful.
